Anyone have any sources for hard to find processors in Canada or that ship to Canada? I'm having a bugger of a time finding a low wattage AMD am2 cpu, there are really only 2 that will work in my server and I can't find anything on e-bay for these 2 year old processors. nuttin.

This one I think was purely an OEM-tray part for this 35W Athlon 3800+
or

There are 2 part numbers for OEM-Tray and box for this BE-2300
ADH2300IAA5DO is an OEM/tray processor
ADH2300DOBOX is a boxed processor
Thanks for looking!

I've never seen those at any retailer...
I use a 4850E (45w) in my WHS... it has been replaced with the 5050E (cheaper too).
5050E (http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10360BD6594&vpn=ADH5050DOBOX&manufacture=AMD)

Indeed, one would assume that the 4850 and 5050 would work, however, and unfortunately, the HP ex47x MediaSmart Servers just don't run well with anything over that ~1.1ish volt / 2GHz mark. The newer processors do work but ultimately produce more heat as a product of running at the higher frequency and ultimately will shut the server down under process intensive operations. the dual core 3800+ @ 35W and the BE-2300 45W unit are really the only ones to successfully run inside this small enclosure.
the search continues :/

Not sure if it'll work, but there's a ADH2300DDBOX
If you know someone with a Bell micro account, they are an AMD distributor in Canada and previously had been the place to go for harder to find AMD parts:
https://shop.bellmicroproducts.ca/exec/search.tsb?sp_q=ADH2300DDBOX
If not, you can usually get places like memx/ncix etc. to quote it for you and bring it in from Bell Micro. It will probably will take 3-4 weeks though.

Here's one on eBay, unfortunately it's in France...
http://cgi.ebay.fr/AMD-Athlon%1A-64-X2-3800+-EE-SFF-35W-**RARE**_W0QQitemZ300312772532QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090505?IMSfp=TL090505128001r30885
I can bring it back for you on July 7 if the guy is willing to drop it off in Paris. (He lives about an hour east)
EDIT: Nm, the auction is over, need to practice my French

You mean reseller.
I can probably get you one. I'll go talk to my distributer.
EDIT:I have a 7750 Kuma Black Edition with the 4th core unlocked and it's underclocked to 1.8Ghz which gives me 40W. BTW, I think you have speedstep on because you said it would boost it to a higher frequency.

I would be ecstatic especially if I could get my hands on a 35W 3800+ but the BE-2300 @45W would do.
