I'm just having troubles with my normal shoes when squatting and dead lifting, i feel like their is too much pressure on my heels and it sometime bruises. I'm just wondering what are some good shoes you use and something relatively cheap. I'm looking for about 110$ maximum, and hopefully using this for some light running

Good cheap shoes for squats and dead lifts use chuck taylors.

I have to invest in some as my running shoes are hurting my squats and dead lifts.

I have been using either asis/saucony cross trainers for 10 years now, absolutely love them and running room always does a great job at helping with the right shoe

I got a pair of the Vibram Five Fingers - Classic for squatting and deadlifting. I also use them for my cardio sessions at the gym.

Squats and deadlifts are not activities that you want to do in cross trainers. The cushioning causes instability and also robs you of energy transfer. For these exercises, you want a hard, non-compressible sole with no cushioning.

Perhaps you should consider getting customized orthotics?

See a podiatrist.

I had flat feet and I always put alot of pressure on my heels. Orthotics was the solution since it corrected my foot pattern.

Those flat old school converse shoes are perfect for the squat and deadlift. They are relatively cheap too.

Ya I use Chuck Taylors. I find they help. Or get real weightlifting shoes. Weigtliftingshoes.ca ...but chucks are best bang for buck.

Chucks ftw, then some smaller heeled runners for, um, running.

Barefoot rules but isn't the most practical and vibrams are just too odd looking.

I have had customized orthotics since I was a kid because I have flat feet (diagnosed). I never use them, and read that they can be bad for lifting if you're squatting/deadlifting with them. There is also some anecdotal evidence of people having a stronger foot arch due to not using them vs. relying on them.

Nike free's, they mimic "barefoot" training, and help stabilize your foot, Highly recommend them

Well you should see a podiatrist anyway since you are exerting excessive amounts of pressure on your heals.

I use Nike Free 7.0s 0r 5.0s. It's like you're wearing nothing. Solid non compressable impact cushioning - no Air Sole, no Zoom, - just the 'Free technology', it flows with foot movement, so you get more stable upon transition as if you were barefoot. They also aren't very expensive.

If you see the shoe in the store, pick it up, and twist it - one of the coolest things ive seen in a shoe.

Bump!

Can someone recommend shoes for someone with low foot arc's, not diagnosed with flat foot but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. No insurance right now so podiatrist has to wait. I do plyometrics with p90x and it becomes pretty painful, also I would like to start running now that it's getting warmer out. My feet hurting pretty much hindered me from that since it would hurt after running even just for a short time. Looking to spend less than $200.
