I cant remember right now, but are 97 clusters obd1?

i belive 94 - 95 obd1 anything 96 and up has to be obd2

but they wire in the same ( i think, correct me if i'm wrong )

Wires are not the same.

As per the initial request, I actually need an OBD1 cluster. It would save me the hassle of rewiring things.
