Saw this Friday afternoon:

Never seen one before. At first i was like look at the chump in the Lotus with the BMW Badging hahaha...but my friend was like that's not a Lotus you idiot, that's a BMW M1!!!!!!

Did some research, this was in production between 1978-1981....still a pimp looking ride. Hope they bring it back one day :D

Argh! I'd give my left... nevermind... for one of these! Didn't know there was one in calgary. Now I need to go buy a winning lotto ticket, track this guy down and buy me a toy :)

Seen the recent M1 concept car?

That's what they came with from the factory.

Nice spot! Rare car for sure. I didn't think they had any of these in Calgary. I think this is one of the few cars that has dual badges from the factory lol

That there is the reason the 135i is not called an M1 almost qualifies though with 300hp.

BMW really painted it self into a corner with its naming didn't they? lol

Sweet car though.

One of my favorites. Have seen this car around Calgary a few times. Wouldnt hesitate to track down the owner and try to purchase if I had a lot of money.

I've only seen one of these at the BMW museum in Munich. Good spotting.

cool, there was this 80's looking book about german cars i had when i was a kid i used to flip through over and over, had a picture of one of these in racing form, was white with blue and red stripes with full aero etc and reading into it a while back the turbocharged racing M1s could achieve up to 800+hp + midship layout = :nut: , just something about these early-mid 80's european sports car chassis with high asses and low sharp angled fronts like 80's esprits and gt5 panteras i like.
