Post 'em.

I've been macking on Miss Cleo for the past 3-4 years... never achieve something of this magnitude.

Dollar machine, sorry can't prove it cuz I had to take the photo quick so I don't get kicked out, didn't realize I didn't get the dominiation. But regardless of the amount, I've never ever seen 5 of those kittens. (that's 100 times total bet)

Playing slot machines is the equivalent of paying $10 for a 5 dollar bill.

^^^ No. It's like paying $10 for a $5 bill 90% of the time. 10% of the time, it's like paying $5 for a $10 bill.

On one occaision, because of a secretaries mistake, I was sent to the wrong town on the way to a seismic camp. By the time I got to the proper town, it was too late to drive to camp so we stayed there the night.

I won $750 on the VLT,

2 months later I won another $750 in another town.

That's all I've ever won over $100.

when we were in vegas just after they came out with the paper slip payouts for the slots, my wife wnated to get a slip from each hotel for her scrap book, so we'd put $1 in the penny machines and play it down to like 10 cents and cash it out and keep the slip.

one that we went to, she had put in a dollar played it down tot he point where we only had max lines, but not max bet, sure enough, she hit a jackpot, ended up with $20... if it had been max bet, we would have won a car :o

I don't normally play slots but after playing craps for a few hours he convinced me to split $100 on a high roller slot. I thought what the hell I'm in Vegas.

Each roll was like $10 and after being up a down a little bit we were down to our last roll and about to leave. Last one hits the Wheel of Fortune wheel and lowest payout is $100 so we figured we would just get our money back. Low and behold we hit the $1k cashed out and left. It was a great night

Carrib Stud : I got a full house, $100 on the first night I played it. In that same sitting my friend won $500 on four of a kind.

Craps: Shooting dice when the table is full, pit boss buying rounds and random girls buying me multiple units of 6 8.

Let the good times roll!!

Wait, that couldve been a 5cent machine, meaning 200$ish lol, but the most I've ever won on slots was $400 with my last 50cents of $10, the only slot machine I've ever spent more than $50 on was at caesars palace In Vegas, it was for a slammed 07 MB CL500 on 22s
all black by some local shop down there, of course, Caesars palace ended up being $60 richer :( and my dreams of driving the thing back to Calgary on those glass smooth desert roads were gone in 15mins.

I was at the casino in Victoria with my gf and her parents. Her dad was going to leave and just left a slip for 68 cents sitting on the machine. I picked it up and put it into a nickel machine and brought it up to over 100 bucks. On the way over to cash it out I put it into one of those new dollar slots, bet 20 bucks and cashed out with just over 1000. Laughed at her dad when he asked me to split it with him.

If you make fun of another man for picking up anything of monetary value that used to be yours, you frofeit all rights you had to that property and anything that comes of it. Its a man rule or something. No split.

Biggest 1-2 NL Hold'em Pot i've seen (and was a part of).

It was late (or really early), something like 6a.m. There were multiple tables earlier in the night but they closed down due to lack of players. So they combined all the tables together. All the huge stacks stayed that night. Lowest chipstack on the table was $600, highest was $3500, I was sitting at around $1300.

Hand is dealt, I get pocket 10s. I'm first to act. Players at the table I would say were semi-tight with 1 donkey player and 1 SUPER MOFO'IN Donkey. I call $2, player beside me looks at his cards, thinks about it, raises to $25.

That raise isn't too bad considering everyone had deep stacks. 5 players call, then it gets to the button. Who's button? SUPER MOFO'IN Donkey. He raises to $100. Small blind and big blind folds. Gets back to me. I sit and think about it. The player who initially raised it to $25 I respect. The way everyone else called the $25 I would think they have marginal hands and/or were calling for pot odds.

Okay Nam, time to segregate the players. "Raise, $200 more." If player who initially raised it went over the top of me, I know I'm done. If he calls, maybe he has jacks, AK, or something like that. He sits, thinks for a good minute, maybe 2. Smooth calls.

Now here's what boggled my mind. Maybe it was late, maybe it was because there was so much money in the pot, but 3 of the 6 players remaining (including SUPER MOFO'IN Donkey) calls my raise. I can see the look on all the players that were in the pot that the only people with real hands was myself and the initial raiser.

Over $1500 in the pot. Here comes the flop:

2C 5D 8C

Not a bad flop, lots of drawing hands though. I'm first to act. I still think my hand is good. I look at all the players at the table, everyone double checking their cards. Yes, my hand is good. I look at the initial raiser, he's contemplating. I say "BET." I sit, think about what to bet into this $1500+ pot. I have just about $1000 behind me. I count out $300 in front of me. Look at the initial raiser. He's doing the pump/fake 'i'm gonna call whatever you bet' move. Other players have a grim, sick, distgusted look on their face. 2 players were actually waiting to see what I was going to bet. I predict at least one of them is on a draw. Club or straight, I don't want them drawing me.

"I'm all in" I count out $1035 in chips with uncertainty. Hopefully this will play a reverse mind games role.

Pot is now about $2600

Moaning, groaning, arms flailing, eyes wincing, everyone at the table was disgusted with my bet.

Initial raiser puts his face in his hands. He scratches his head, I can see the dandruff falling out. Puts his head down on the table, playing with his chips. He asks, "You have a made hand?" I answer, "What do you think I'm betting all my chips with?"

He plays out how the hand was played in his head. I know I have him beat. He takes a long time to make a decision. Okay, I know he's on a draw, maybe AK of clubs. Maybe he has jacks or queens and I can actually make him lay it down. As time goes by, I know he doesn't have aces or kings. I'm good, I'm good.

He looks at his chips once more, counting out how much he has. He has from what I could count about $2500. He looks at other players on the table. Because he's taking so long to make his decision, people are making signs taht they are ready to fold.

4-5 minutes after I made my all in bet, he says 2 words I didn't wanna hear. "I call"

Pot is around $3600

Oh shit, he's got me beat, or he's gambling with AK of clubs.

Then the fold train comes, FOLD FOLD FOLD FOLD, ALL IN. Wtf? Button goes all in, he's highest chip stack, he's got the initial caller covered. I'm done, I'm toast.

Pot is around $5500

Initial raiser calls the rest of his $900

Pot is officially over $6400

The table is covered in chips. Everyone wants to see the whole cards. I show my 10s, initial caller jumps, claps his hands, and says, "I got outs"

Yup, my gut was right, he's got AK of clubs. He shows his hand to confirm it.

Donkey button holds his cards, chooses not to show. He claims he's got a set, but everyone know's it's BS.

Here comes the Turn

9H

Excellent, nice brick card.

And the river. The dealer made damn sure to make it hollywood style lol. He slowly flips the river over

Queen of clubs

Nail in the coffin. Everyone jumping up, clapping their hands. I'm in the midst of defeat. I'm stunned, but with a smile on my face. I don't know how else I could've played the hand better. I pat him on the back, he shakes my hand. We talk about the play. That hand lasted 10 minutes and everyone at the table was talking about it for the next hour.

And that folks is the largest hand i've played/seen for $1-2 NL Hold'em.

I played $1-2, 2-5, 5-5 omaha with chipstacks larger than what was on this table, but never have I seen a pot go over, or come close to $6, 400+

I read the whole thing and it was of interest to me. But then again I'm a bit of a poke fanatic and read anything about poker.

The largest poker I can recall seeing in a 1-2 game was under $2500, I can't even remember seeing a pot anywhere close to that amount in any 2-5 game I've played in.

Never had too much luck at a casino. Only one time I was playing Caribbean stud and was down to my last hand so I played it blind. I told the dealer to turn it up for me. First 2 cards were Jacks so awesome just doubled my money..... so I said come on give me full house. It ended up being a 4 of a kind and the dealer qualified.

Other than that, still waiting to hit any sort of jackpot, like straight flush on 3 cards, 678 suited on lucky lucky, bad beat, some crazy big bet at Roulette or progressive jackpot on slots....... one day one day........ Although this one time I did get a natural royal flush in pay gow poker, but it was in vegas and no dragon bonus...

He claimed that he had a set, but no one on the table really believed him. End of the night he said to the table he had a set of 8s. But one person said, "You must've hit your one outter cuz I had an 8" and another person said, "i'm almost positive I had an 8 also." So ya, that pretty much sums it up.

The cleo machines are crazy... 25$/spin is pretty sweet if you hit the what tomco hit... other than that, not gonna make big money.

Last time I was in Calgary, I took down 16k in 24 hours on the dollar slots... didn't get any pictures... but the bulk was from 3 dollar slots side by side... hit 2500, while waiting for the handpay, hit another one for 3500 then the next one over 20 minutes later, got the bonus game and hit 6000. sick afternoon for sure.

and the last time I was at the casino here... I hit this... first and last time I ever played these kind of machines.

I hit Suited 7's two weeks ago with 3 bucks on the lucky ($600). only bought in for 40 so it was a good win lol .

Right after that I took 50 bucks and played 1/2 NL and in two hands walked out with another 300.

Yea I hit 678 first, thats what kept me going haha. Oh and I left right after the two hands of poker, so I walked out the doors almost 900 bucks up from 40 lol.

Its funny because the night two weeks ago that i hit the suited 777, was the last night I could gamble at stampede casino as im a BJ dealer now. It was a good final night.

I hit the suited 777 for 5k once and in a winnipeg casino I was playing 2 deck BJ with a side bet like the sevens but only it's for hands of 20... like 9+A=3:1 then it gets better for suited 20, pair 20s.... the best being the two queen of hearts with the dealer hitting blackjack. I hit the two heart queens but the dealer didn't have BJ. Still paid 10k. hahaha no pictures of those wins though, unless you wanna get tossed outta the house.

My one buddy always plays them and he will tell me he won 400$, then tells his gf he won 500$, and tells john he won 350$! I think they get so addicted, that even admitting to themself that there losing is to hard to handle.

Found a Cleo alternative... pretty hard game but it's packed with so much power and energy... Once you get 3 random Zeus thunder bolt palms, it triggers the 10 free spin rounds. Really fast pace though.

JLude, assuming you're still living in WPG, how do you like the Casino's out there in comparison to Calgary? (Strongly considering moving there next summer).

And if you play poker, hows the poker rooms out there, with NL games and Tourney style?

They suck, and that's compared to anywhere in Canada. Poker rooms are shot with soooooo many stupid rules that you don't find anywhere. Was playing some poker last night for a few hours, tight tables.

I start with 1000, never get in for more than 3000. The game I was playing is $25 a spin!

I went to Club Regent once with my uncle while i was out there years ago (was 19 or something), and didnt find it that bad, but didnt stay long mind you...

And what 'stupid rules' do you mean?
Can you give an example?? MIND YOU... Playing tourney hold'em at grey eagle pisses me off too sometimes when the regulars get all finnicky about the little rules that change the game in no way whatsoever and nobody cares about.

Stupid rules like... Can't eat while sitting at the table, can't wear glasses or a hat... can't listen to music, cannot read a book. That's just a taste.

For those who have played at the River Cree, how does that compare to Calgary casinos? I'm a casino addict, I absolutely love Vegas, thankfully I'm to cheap to lose more then $50 at anything other then poker. I would love to check out the Calgary scene next time I'm there.

As for biggest win, probably not much more then $200-300 at poker.

I was at river cree a few months ago playing poker... one thing I noticed that was different, is that they allow angeling at the tables... which I've never seen anywhere before. Just don't do that in Calgary, cause they'll muck your hand.

Angling (I spelt it wrong)

Angling: This is characterized as any acting out of turn. It is considered angling when any player folds or bets out of turn. A player who uses constant angling is known as an "angle shooter". Angling is used to make opponents bet or fold differently to that if they didn't know what the anglers play was. For example, if the angler signals to bet before his turn, other players to the angler's right react by not betting or perhaps even folding. When the round reaches the angler, the angler announces that he or she is not interested in betting after all, or winning a hand due to the opponents fold.

I personally like those rules at Club Regent and McPhillips Street Station.

Makes the tables a bit more friendly and talkative which adds a fun element to the game. I found that in Calgary the tables were a bit too quiet and everyone seemed to act a bit more douchey at times when everyone is sitting behind sunglasses listening to their iPods.

I can see the improvement there, but what I see more than not is people getting WWAAYYY to.serious at the $60 tourneys at grey eagle and cash..

Not as a reflection of having sunglasses or ipods on, but because the money they're gambling with seems like to them its gonna make them a millionaire.. Get real.

One thing that shouldn't be allowed at live tournaments or cash games is sunglasses, hoodies and hats.

If you have to hide your face or eyes during a live game them maybe you shouldn't be playing live.

I know a lot of old pro's are trying to have it banned from all live games.

I wear a baseball cap everywhere i go, so i can see caps staying (or like Doyle, cowboy hats)... But the sunglasses and hoodies, etc... is just ridiculous.

But often its these chumps who are playing poker like its roulette too.. so it wouldn't be a loss if we lost them altogether anyways.

Why the hell does it matter? The game evolves so should the players. Reading a player is not all about looking at their eyes and every "Pro" can tell you that unless they are just noobs.

Man the fuck up and play poker don't be a pussy trying to ruin the game.

This....
Reason why 99.9% of online profitable poker players can beat live games @ the same limits or higher (And obv lower)

and the reason why a lot of Live players that beat the games online will get crushed Online @ the same limits they play online/live...

I wear sunglasses, a hoody, sometimes a clown nose. On a good day I actually just come sit down and pull out a JarJar Binks mask and throw that shit on and talk like him.

You be a man and learn how to play poker. Reading someone is not about looking at their eyes and face. If that's how you play you might need to refine your poker skills sir.
