So I sold my Evo today, and picked up a daily shitkicker 2001 BMW 325 (it's in good shape, though, so it'll be great for a daily) and a 2007 Yamaha R6 for my toy.
The Evo was $197 a month to insure, full coverage.
The BMW came in at $112 or so, full coverage. Not too shabby.
The bike though... fucking UNREAL! It's my first bike, so I was expecting a bit of a hit... nothing like this though.
So yeah, Theft, Fire and Liability on it...
A whopping $18.97 a month.
:D
God, I love my insurance company.

Must be because of those claim estimates with $60/hr labor rates ;)

I was paying ICBC $100/mo for my old '88 Vulcan. Most of the reason I sold it...couldn't afford that and the car.

"Full Coverage" Doesn't mean anything. The price can vary a lot depending on what your deductible is for each type of coverage.

Wait until you try to get full coverage on the bike... you might not like them anymore.
When I had a 600 cc bike, my insurance (PLPD) was $157 / year.

I'm not getting full coverage on it. What's the point of collision on a bike? If I get hit, the bike is toast, and probably me too. If I drop it, I'll just buy a new fairing for two hundred bucks.

how is it with 1way insurance on bikes ? similar conditions for liability, deductible as on the car ?

Yes it will. *if* there's collision. There's no exclusion for being stupid.

I would say 90% of car collisions are due to drivers being stupid. Why exclude wheelies?

Bike insurance is cheap because they only need a broom and a wet vac to clean you up. Cars require tow-trucks, not baggies.

Bike insurance (the liability portion anyway) is cheap because a motorcycle doesn't do much damage to whatever it hits (relatively speaking anyway). The collision on the other hand can be quite expensive compared to private passenger vehicles.

That just doesnt sounds right that you could have theft included for that price.
