Is anyone else in Taradale or Saddleridge having an intermittent internet connection issue? My connection has been acting up since yesterday.

I had total loss of service for part of the evening yesterday. I'm in temple just south of you. I phoned and they said there was a problem in my area (temple) and that they were working to resolve it.

i had no service during the afternoon prolly at like 1 pm till 5 pm and im just south of you too. im up in coral springs...

I had no service today from bout 1 to 5... I'm in Edgemont.

Pretty crazy, phoned at 1:15, said that the service is just going to be down for 3 times until 6:00 for about 20 minutes each, internet was down the entire time though, called at 4 to wonder wtf was going on and they said it will be up at 5. Right at 5, on the dot, internet came back up, surprised they estimated it so well.

I just called Shaw. The tech insisted that the issue is within my home connection because nobody else in my area have called them about intermittent internet connectivity. So, they'll be sending a tech to troubleshoot my home connections. I'm pretty sure it's not my home connection but if they want to waste their time, then they can...

I'm downtown, had an outage for about 30 min tonight from 9-9:30pm roughly.

A couple weekends ago I had a 2-3 hour outage, and Shaw said it was some issue with a damaged cable or something, and they had dispatched techs out to fix it. It was their opening recording before you could even talk to a human, so it was clearly a widespread issue. Extremely minor though, and I'm back to normal.

I am on the Island and our internet has been down for about 90 minutes now. Can't get through on 310-SHAW or the local support line in Nanaimo. Weird.

In Dalhousie, been down since late last night. Called shaw this morning - 1hr wait times to talk to someone so looks like a lot of people are having trouble.

Hey guys,
sorry I missed this thread - we had an Internet outage yesterday due to hardware failure. Our vendor came in to repair it and all services should be up and running now.

If it's not working, do a quick powercycle of your modem. If you're still having problems, fire me a PM and I'll get our team to help you out.

what pisses me off most about this outage is customer service and tech support numbers ringing busy all night. Not on hold, no call-back just plain busy. If at least i could get through and hear and pre-recorded voice message that there is a known issue in this area and people are working on it it would save me a lot of time and hassle. Shaw never has been one for customer service though.

Totally hear you - I haven't heard of it being busy but that shouldn't happen so I'll relay that to the appropriate teams.

if my internet is out how am i going to check twitter or facebook? heh. Yes if it's important enough i'll step out and go find a wifi hotspot or call a friend to ask them to look but it's something i shouldn't have to do. I don't have a data plan on my phone so no-go there. I also had my friend call and it was busy signals all night long. I know back in the day Cadvision had a website you could access when your internet was down. I don't know the details of how that worked but it always updated on current issues. However Cadvision was like 100 years ahead of shaw. You know, when i called Cadvision tech support, someone picked up the phone!!!
