Just curious where someone could get a background check done...

I'm asking for a friend who recently got a job at a daycare and her employer asked her to get one. She asked her employer where she could get it done but she didn't know lol

I checked online to get some info and it seems you have to pay 40$ and send in a consent form for them to get started on a background check.

Is there anyway it could be done locally? Like going to a police district and asking for a background check?

any help is appreciated

Do they want a background check or a criminal record check?

Both times I was required to get one I had to go downtown to the CPS Administration building...

You can also go to the district office off 17 ave SW. I think it's around 45 st.

Background check would be a criminal record check.

Werd to Davetronz. CPS admin building downtown, fill out a form, give it to em + pay the fee, wait for it to arrive in the mail.

I heard that you are supposed to go to the district office that you live at... something about them having the most up to date info? Just my 2 cents.

If there is info to update doesnt getting the background check seem kinda moot?

Im sorry but if a company wants to hire me and they want a background check. they can do the work. Every company I worked for has done it that way. Some take like 10 bucks of your first pay for it but most just do it.

Ive had to have a few done and its always been at the admin. building downtown. i went to the district office near where i live (district 8) and the guy at the desk just about laughed when i asked if i could get it done at a district office. and yeah it costs close to 50 bucks i think.

What kind of jobs require a criminal background check?

Just curious :)

Just to clarify, you can only get clearance checks done at the CPS Admin building (located across 7 Ave from city hall) and occasionally district 2 (call in advance as they only do it on certain days)

Phone number for District 2 is: 567-6200

A lot more than you think. Typically security, but also caregivers, teachers, realtors, certain students that are doing their practicum, and even volunteers

Depends on what you do. If you are working with children, there is no way you are getting away with NOT doing a background check--even if you are a parent volunteering for a field trip you need to have a valid police clearance.

When i was hired by Purolator 2 years ago they asked me to get a background check. On top of that they also wanted me to get finger prints done!

FUCKKKKK NO!

Anything with dealing with kids and handling cash.
Opening up a shop and getting an Amvic License.
