View Full Version : Best sushi spots in Vancouver?

I'm flying down to Vancouver this afternoon and I'm looking to leave the belt at the hotel and max out on some quality sushi.

What would you guys recommend? The closer to downtown the better.

My favorite spots in Calgary are:
- Wa's
- Zipang
- Towa

I'm not super adventurous and am by no means a sushi aficionado, but I can appreciate good fish :)

What do you guys recommend?

Never been there but from what I read, Tojo's for omakase is the place to go.

There is an all you can eat for 13$ after 9:30 on Broadway called Tomokazu. Good sushi for the money...also Tanpopo on Denman is really good and AYCE.

It would probably be a better idea to stay away from those cheap AYCE places and go to a higher quality place.

Tsunami is good.

Hapa Izakaya (2 locations, one in kits and the other on robson) is better.

Yup, go to Hapa on Cornwall and Yew. Very impressed the two times we went. You can then go for a stroll on the beach.

From what I read around, Tojo's just seem to be a decent place but not the best.

Toshi is the best according to UrbanSpoon:

I'm hungering for some Vancouver sushi tonight and hopefully, someone can tell me why Tojo's is the best.

From what I've seen, Sorath doesn't seem impressed either.

Blah, didn't matter.

Tojo's was closed on Sunday; same as Toshi. :(

Are you in Vancouver right now? Too funny. My son and his g/f are there too. Spending a week downtown.

I like this one is Kitsilano. Right beside Starbucks.

I wasn't really impressed by Tojo either, but you didn't even hit up any sushi places in Vancouver? Not even an AYCE binge?
