Two sand bags in the back and four blizzacks gets me around town like i'm driving a 4x4. I thought it was going to be hard to justify spending $700 on winter tires but i am extrememly happy with them. I would recommend these tires to anyone living in calgary. :burnout:

Ya man I was the same last year. I was a little skeptical about paying $700 for a set of Arctic Alpines but its totally worth it.

Dude did you ever get hosed:eek:

I'm assuming they are a 215-45-17? They go for $960.00 inc. mounting and balancing at most places.

They do rule indeed. I picked up a good set of 16's for 50 bux, about 50% :D The rx7 is driving around as if its in awd. Probly the best buy ive ever made

They are good but for calgary which doesnt really get alot of snow they are not needed, I just put a set of conti extreme contacts on my e36 havent had a bit of problems in this snow. When the roads dry out they wont wear off like the snow only tires do(although the michelins seemed very good in dry for wear)
It is amazing how well they(blizzacks) do work in the ice though, I had a set on a awd subaru, was sick lol

I just called Kal-Tire and they have NOTHING left that will fit the new car, aside from some 280-something dollar tires! Screw that!

I got stuck twice already since picking up the car on Saturday. :banghead:

Talk to Anand at mytires, chances are you will have to go by his shop and see him, he is super busy and doesn't even have time to get the phone.

Thanks for the tip! I just called him and got a really good price on a set of Khumo KW-17 winter tires.

Anyone know anything about these? I'll probably go for them...

Those are excellent winter tires - H-rated for good handling with a fairly aggressive tread.

Nice link! Those tires look pretty badass. Should grip pretty good in the snow! :)
