Ok well, Im planning to get my first car this summer, and I need help choosing the right one.

My budget is around $6000-7000

I found 2 cars that I think look cool.

A Chevy Impala 2001

http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-Chevrolet-2001-IMPALA-FOR-THE-CAR-ENTHUSIAST-W0QQAdIdZ139199806

and

Honda civic si 2001

http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-Honda-Honda-Civc-Si-W0QQAdIdZ139194217

Now I'm into custom cars, and for me the impala looks overall better, but I heard about how the impalas have lots of problems with there car, and usually at the repair shop.

I called in for the impala and the guy said 2 new tires have to be placed, and theres a crack in the passenger rear view mirror..

the offer for both is $6500

Do you guys think these are worth the buy? and which one.

If not tell me what I should do..or what car i should get.
I was thinking of getting a normal car for $5000 than modify it..but tell me what you guys think.

What... did you find the two most riced up cars in Kijiji so you could ask what we thought?

Both are ugly. In particular the impala - wtf?

Neither...

Get a stock car, and then modify it yourself, it'll be a lot more fun on the long run. With the mods on either of those cars, you cannot be too sure to trust them entirely for what they say. For all you know, mods could have been installed improperly... which could lead to future problems. Get a stock car, and have fun

EDIT: Both cars are too fast and furious... :thumbsdow AKA... too riced.

Well i thought the impala looked pretty cool, he tried to make it look like a mustang gt haha.

And no way Am i getting stock cars.

I'm looking into something a little in between Luxury and sports car.

If it is a first car what is wrong with a stock car?
And there is nothing luxury or sporty about either of those cars. There is probably some cars that are more subtle on there.

I was wondering the same thing.
Just in case the OP does not know what it means, Stock just means that the car does not have any mods on it.
What nykz was suggesting is that you just get an unmodded, Civic or Impala or whatever it is that you like and do all the mods yourself.

Stock means... the car is unmodified, as in factory form. Without any aftermarket mods whether it be cosmetics or performance. Basically what it looked like when it came out of the factory...

IMO for a first car, stay LHD. Once you have more experience then go right ahead for something RHD. Also you should lean towards a honda or acura solely because of reliabilty and price of parts.

Im sure if you buy either of those riced out cars you will regret it very soon. Who modifies an Impala?! Maybe an older SS or something but not that body style. I can just see that thing being beat to shit. Buy that civic if you want (personally i think its a better choice) but don't be surprised when people pull up to you at lights and laugh and point and snap pictures of your car.

Imo buying a car that is stock or lightly modded is the way to go. Then you can do whatever you want to it yourself which is half the fun if you are a car enthusiast. If you just want a "cool" car, neither of these cars are doing a good job of it.

Yea definitely get a stock (unmodified) car. Those body kits might be cool when you're still in highschool, but trust me, they quickly wear off and you'll probably have a hard time getting rid of it. Not saying it's always the case, but cars like that generally have been abused more so than a regular stock car.

Between both I suppose I would go with the Civic, but man the Civic looks like it has a massive overbite with that bumper.
