Description :

You are looking at a very rare 1994 Acura Legend LS Coupe 6-Speed in Sherwood Green Pearl with Ivory Leather

The current mileage is 418,000. Majority of the mileage has been accumulated from highway mileage (the previous owner lived in Cochrane). Probably why the car drives as well as it does, and why the original clutch lasted 400,000km. I have no hesitation to state that it will continue on for many more 100’s of km, my friend has a Legend Coupe 6MT in Arizona which is currently at ~700km and looks/runs showroom new (ask for pictures if you wish). Anyone who looks at this mileage and passes based on that is definitely loosing out. Just keeping up with maintenance is what I see as important, regular fluid changes (according the manual), and filters. The limited maintenance required is not a chore, parts are easy to find and responsibly priced. Servicing this car is easy to do yourself and cheap to do at an independent auto repair shop.

The Interior is in great shape overall, and the seats are the most comfortable I have ever experienced (soft leather, supportive and firm but not jarring).

I have full service records for this car from 1998 and after. They are organized and show that no expense was spared to maintain this car. Most of the work in the lifetime of the car has been done by the Acura dealer. I have recently done a full service (K&N Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, PCV Valve) myself, the car is easy to work on. In my ownership I have kept all gas receipts, showing the use of Premium Gasoline from either Petro Canada, or lately Shell V-Power. The original clutch has recently been replaced with an OEM clutch, should be good for another 300k. The car has a clean carproof/carfax record, other than a minor ($600) accident more than 10 years ago. I also have the original manual, brochure and two keys, including a second transponder for the compustar.

The engine is responsive, powerful and smooth The Type II 230hp motor moves this car beautifully – at the time it was the fastest front wheel drive car available and was faster than the competition (powered by V8’s for the most part). The motor burns does not burn oil between oil changes. I switched over to using quality synthetics in my oil changes about 2 years ago, either Pennzoil Platinum, Mobil One, or Castrol Syntec (always done at the dealer with OEM filters) and noticed a marked improvement in smoothness. I always used for coolant flushes Honda Type II Blue Coolant Phosphate free to preserve the head gasket, the one caveat of the C32A1 motor. The transmission is filled with GM Syncromesh fluid for silky smooth shifting (better than the G35 coupe I tested last week)

The features this car has is astonishing Fully Loaded to the Max (LS Model), Automatic Climate Control, Power Heated Seats/Mirrors, Speed Sensitive Steering, Real Japanese Burlwood Walnut Interior accents, Power Windows (Even the rear!), Cruise Control, Power Tilt Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, TCS, ABS, and plus so much more that I am forgetting. I will just sum up the standard options list as stating, it is definitively fully loaded. A nice party feature are the automatic pull in doors, when you shut the door it laches about 1 cm out, and pulls the door in to ensure proper close every time.

Aftermarket has been limited and tasteful, Compustar 2-Way Pro Series Alarm, Starter, Entry and Trunk with Proximity (unlocks the car automatically when you walk up to it). 6000k HID headlights, for an updated look, but more importantly, enhanced viewing distance at night. There has also been added an aftermarket JVC Headunit with Hardwired IPod access, 8 Speakers (Alpine, Pioneer, Bose) plus a sub (Rockford Fosgate) – sounds fantastic.

I have 4 Winter tires which come with the car, Nokian Hakkapelittas which are some of the best Winter tires you can buy. It also includes two Fuzion HRi all seasons which are appropriate for summer usage. These tires combined with the TCS, ABS, FWD, Ski Pass Through and heated everything really combine to make this car the full winter package. This car is phenomenal in winter driving, predictable, and easy to drive. I have never been intimated by a snow storm or icy roads, it takes all in stride. I have never had any problem starting this car at any temperature even when it got down to -40 last winter (this was a rare occasion during the day as the car is garaged every night)

Summer driving comes just as good, with the sunroof down, or the rear windows rakishly retracted, a nice 6-speed manual mated to a peppy V6, in a long coupe with a great stereo really make a fantastic summer driving experience.

The brakes are great in this car; I replaced the rear rotors and pads recently, and replaced the front pads with Ceramic ones pressing against machined rotors. Braking distance is comparable with modern day performance/luxury cars, as the Type II brakes were lifted off the NSX.

Like any car of this age, it does has its problems – these on my car are minor and do not distract from the driving experience. Minor rust has developed on three of the fenders, and it has rock chips. I hit a parking barrier in Bankers hall about two months ago which left the car with a missing molding and some scratches. There is some clear coat loss on the trunk and roof The AC doesn’t work, but I have a working compressor and belt, it just needs to be installed and filled. An alignment would reduce road noise and a slight tilt to the steering wheel. Lastly, I was in a minor rear ending accident last snowfall. Of course, the Legend had no problem stopping, unfortunately, the car behind did not have the same capacity. The damage is minor, a slightly cracked plastic cover and just some scuffs on the bumper, cosmetic damage.

I have had the privilege of owning the car for 2 years, it’s been amazing, an easy car to fall in love with. The car drives nice in spite of its flaws, I often take the long way home for the hell of it, and frequently get distracted by its great drive and not make it to my destination. The ownership experience is different. The rarity really shows in numerous instances, when I go to the dealer for oil changes, I get special treatment people always ask me about the car, I even had one of older sales people take the liberty of sitting in it when I was not around (strange I must say!).

This car is rare, the numbers of manual coupes sold in all of Canada in 1994 was 36. I have been told that there are 5 of 6-Speed Coupes in Calgary, I have seen two of them. I have counted every single second generation Legend coupe I have seen in the last 2 years and that number com!es out to be under 20. Every owner is an enthusiast, I always get a honk, wave, smile, a nice chat, or in one case a guy in a 1991 LS Coupe try to run me off the road (in a friendly way!). The lines of car is beautiful today as it was 15 years ago, and has aged gracefully.

Part of the charm of this car is its practicality. It seats 5 comfortably when you need to, with plenty of luggage room (the trunk is massive!). The gas mileage is great thanks to the overdrive 6th gear, I get about 600km to a tank within city, and highway, about 675km (but I think I can stretch this to about 700km). On that note, its a great highway/road trip car, I jumped in spur of the moment and took it to Montana's going to the sun road, about a 1000km trip at the end of last summer - this is one car that you will not let your buddies drive.

One in which would have excruciatingly compared this with other great automobiles of the time Mercedes 300CE, Lexus SC400 amongst others. The original selling price of this car in 1994 was CDN $50,000 even, big money back then, easily twice the price of a Integra GSR for sake of comparison. Today the inflation adjusted price would be closer to $67,000! For further comparison, today a Infiniti G37S 6MT costs just around $50,000.

So your probably wondering after all of this why I am selling, well, I recently bought a California SC400, another dream car of mine, and thought it might be a good time to move on. The Legend was wonderful to me, but having an automatic at this point is better for my family as a second car.

If you are interested feel free to contact me at leave a message if I don't pick up.

The final price of this car is $2300. Priced for a quick sale, serious inquiries only.
