I had this setup and it was a fun quick boosting ride after, eventually you'll get disappointed at how fast the turbo dies out and want to upgrade to bigger haha, full boost by 2500RPM
What are u gonna use to control the injectors?I assume SAFC II or Neo?

Awesome dude :)
How do you do engine management? Also.. recirc that shit.. cmon :P
Nonetheless.. I bet you will have lots of fun, I got tired of my T25 after about a week. :P

Hahaha I've heard that a few times now, but I left that part to Ray and he used airline wiring quality crimping tool so I trust it's done right. If the car blows up he'll have a blown up KA-T on his conscience and no one wants that.

Haha I have a feeling I need to recirc as i'm getting a bad idle thinking BOV might be causing vac leak, or I have a leaking injector. Only problem with upgrading to t28 is then I need to start building internals.

Hahahahah that's already started. The turbo dies at 3500, then hesitates at 4, and kicks back in. It's the weirdest thing, struggling/hesitating is getting pretty annoying, but it's a fun little setup for now.
Using an SAFC2 currently.

Your idle shouldn't be affected by your BOV setup unless it is set too soft so that it isn't fully closing.
Tighten it up a tad see if that helps, otherwise it could be ECU issues or well.. other many things I suppose.
If you are going for budget I suggest rom tune, PM xyce, he did my SR board for me. Rom tuning is better than piggyback AFC's anyway, esp with the KA as you might want to adjust timing.

Idling and hesitation issues were due to small human errors. Messed around with it with the guru yesterday, wiring from SAFC2 to ECU seems the MAF wiring electrical tape had come loose and the wires were probably grounded causing to short and run in limp mode. Retaped, reset ECU, seemed to fix the problem momentarily. Then it came back, and the SAFC reset, so fixed the corrections on -28% low throttle, -15% high throttle and the car runs smoooooooooooth. No hesitation, no cut off in boost just straight through feels great.

If your not recirc, try using the decel air function on the SAFC to compensate when your BOV VTA

ahhhhh, the wiring will hold - the BOV can definately cause funny idles (with HKS BOVs this usually doesn't happen) -
A - let off the gas, then lightly touch it - is there a hesitation?
B- Does the car want to die when coming to a stop? This usually comes with the up and down idling.
Lets get a shot of those rims

Seem to have fixed the hesitation with the proper SAFC tuning, it apparently reset the other day, and I went back and fixed all the settings, but I think the last time the SAFC settings were changed the Hi throttle wasn't changed to -15. Once I changed that, car runs perfectly. (this is only an assumption, i'm not 100% sure). Idle is strong (first turn on after awhile requires a little gas pedal), but doesn't die on neutral which was a pain to have to always heel-toe / ebrake. And there seemed like a fuel cut off at 3500 RPMs, when hitting boost at 3500 rpm the car hesitated, hit 4 then hit boost again. Now since the SAFC problem seems to be fixed it's straight boost, car feels a LOT quicker now too.
Both problems on A and B were apparent before but I think the SAFC tuning / wire fixing fixed both those.
PS. I'm not posting my rims, they are horrendously ugly. Everyone knows me as the damn clean S13 with the worst rims ever, but hey i'm investing in engine before stance ;)

Are you missing the lower trim piece for the 180sx taillights?Or is that white part supposed to be like that under the taillights?

The trim for the 240 tail lights is more diagonal, so it doesn't fit the Kouki's. The piece that came with the Kouki's is rounded near the middle trim, so there is a seperate piece you need to bolt on (grey piece)... unfortunately it had some shipping damage on it, so theres some small creases, and a bit on the bottom that creates a bit of bad fitment, but it's temporary. It came that color when I got it but I recently spray bombed it matched to the chassis code so it's the right color now, I just don't have an updated photo of the back. I'll take one sometime soon.

Bings stuff is just from Bings.ca.
It's cheap stuff, quality is decent, and shipping cost is included in total price so it's pretty good stuff.
There isn't too much to the SAFC tuning, I had Ray do it the first time as I didn't really know SAFC, but the second time I did it myself when it reset.
Also just curious if anyone has some advice, my car fucking WREAKS of gasoline... Certain times when I hit the gas the smell is overbearing. I just filled up, didn't overfill it's a tick under full, any ideas? I don't think it's leaking injector, might be just when we were doing fuel pump might not have bolted cover back on properly so i'll redo that, but just wondering if anyone has heard of/had this problem.

check the fuel lines you removed when you were doing the fuel pump (tighten the shit out of the clamps). I had to replace both mine but not before i noticed "fuel sweat" on my tank - they were on there way out.
Give it a shot, then check lines going to the fuel filter........

Same deal, my interior always smelled of fuel but not overly crazy that you couldn't stand it, might be from when I spilled fuel when I was installing the Walbro pump

i get wicked mileage, and the smell is only really when i come off the throttle hard. i dont think its a leak in the interior. that being said, im still going to investigate this weekend :)

Dood, do yourself a favor, get a wideband, it will be one of the best investments youll ever have. I know, its expensive....but do it....its the best. Then you can tune even more accurately with it, and if you ever get an ems, you can run it thru the ems for tuning purposes. Make sure you get a wideband with a 0-5v out, as most have anyways.

I was looking at grabbing an innovate with this pay cheque I still may do it off FR for 200$. Heard they are decent enough.
I don't have horrible gas mileage since I fixed the correction, but still the car is almost a bit to overbearing smell of gas, like DJ rice said it's probably from when we were doing the fuel pump. I don't even really mind all that much as I've gotten used to it haha but I had my buddy in and he said it was way too much.

Did you install a new o ring when you did the pump? Maybe you pinched the old one? They tend to expand when you remove the pump assy

My car smells of gas too, but i only get that smell when i step on it.
Thought it was pretty normal so i just ignored it, and now i dont even notice the smell most of the time.
BTW blair, gotta let me try out the KA-T sometime! lol

Deal man as long as I can test the updated blacktop!
The smell of gas wasn't horrendous until lately when i filled up to the top it's overbearing and powerful. I think Evan was right probably pinched O-ring, cause it smells like the back fuel pump case is open it's so bad.

Hahah Car is going up for sale soon to fund a trip to Australia for 6 months. But if I had kept onto it coils/better rims/fitment was next. Hell maybe i'll cancel the trip and keep the car I don't know yet, i'm as confused as a fart in a fan factory on what to do.
Got to get it running better currently injector/maf problem to be diagnosed.
Haha I haven't looked under the wing I'm not sure I want to quite yet, just in case
