landscaping rocks

I'm in need of some random sized (similar proportion to a laptop computer) pieces of sandstone to use as edging for a landscaping feature I'm trying to do. I'm having a hard time justifying paying a couple hundred bucks for a few pieces of rock. Anyone know of any places that I can go and legally scavenge them for next to nothing?

I've seen really big ones near the Saddletowne Circle, where they're building that YMCA and NECCS. NorthEast, go all the way up 52nd street, no turning, past the Co-Op.

But they were pretty big, office chair size.

Similar idea out by Kincora and Evanston, on Symon's Valley Road just past the new Rona, etc.

Not sure of the legality, but there's tons of rocks, and I've seen people there with trucks before digging through them. :dunno:
