Does anybody know if they still let you into the Stampede ground before 9am?

I thought this was a myth except on Kid's day and/or Family day.

Actually, it's a lesser known secret that if you went into the stampede grounds before 8 am, any day of the week, you can chill in there until 8 o clock when they start making people pay, and you can walk out and get a stamp.

I've actually never payed to get into stampede.

However, last year they had some security guards there before 8 am, telling people they weren't allowed inside the grounds. That was pretty lame. I dunno if they're trying prevent us from getting in free again this year, haven't gone yet. =/

I think they also have free breakfast this Sunday as well if you get in before 9 am and you are one of the first... can't remember the number... 20 000 people to get in.

Haven't gone for a couple of years since my friend died from a crazy accident at his work stampede party a few years back, but all I do remember is that the line ups to get in are usually quite insane during family day.

^ WHAT? Wasn't there a guy last year who got hit by a ride thing last year at a downtown work function? What happened to your friend a couple years ago?

If it's the same friend he's talking about, I also knew him. I believe it had something to do with a mechanical bull and an accident involving head injuries.

Free admission to the Park tomorrow for Family Day. Before 9am.

Also a couple of new things you may want to see (depending on tastes). Recycled Percussion...guys from Boston who are sick drummers. And Groovaloos. Unbelievable hip hop dancing. Theyre in the Bell Getaway, which is upper level of Big 4. A must-see.

Since when? I'm pretty sure it's only special days such as Heritage Day, Kids Day, and Family Day that you can only get in free in the mornings, at least for the past 20 years.

is saving the admission cost really worth getting up early to get a stamp and go back?

Most people take the transit anyways, so it is worth it. It's from 6-9 am and usually like today they will extend it to 10.
