ipod error wtf

so i plugged my ipod in (60gb) added a few songs, disconnect ipod and i went to use it in my truck and it says i have 0 songs, but taht the ipod is also 95% full. WTF?!

itunes says it can't read my ipod and i can't go to any songs

please dont' tell me i have to format

and yes i've tried restarting it several tiems
