I have two doors in my house (one bathroom, one bedroom) that had came off their gliders a good couple of times for the past 2-3 years. One time the rear glider (the one closer to the wall) seperated from the door, and it was all the way inside the wall, I had to take a chunk of the wall to retrieve the glider. Now just today it happened again, and I don't feel like cut a chunk out off the wall, retrieve the glider, patch the wall again.

Does anyone know how much it is to convert a sliding door to a swing door (labour-wise)?

I know it will be a small project for most contractor, but does anyone know anyone who will do small repair job like mine?

i think to mount a normal swing door in there, the door pocket would have to be taken out and re framed and redone.. it would only be like a day-day and a half for a decent contractor.. just look on kijiji i bet there is alot of guys looking for little side jobs..

Is there a reason why there was a pocket door installed such lack of space for a swinging door? Might impact your plans.

not always, ive framed homes and had to add pocket doors onto main bathrooms and some en suits.. but sometimes you are right that with a limited space pocket doors are used

I was the one who thought of using sliding door for both the bathroom and bedroom to save space. However, for the hassle that I am going through now maybe it would've been a better idea to go with swing door.
