Im looking to get rid of my integra and buy a 4door car. Ive got a child now so im looking for easier access to the back but still want a decent ride.

My max $$$ is around $15,000 and my main want is just a luxurious car. Im not looking to modify much, maybe just wheels and a lil drop if that.

So far my list includes

Audi A4s
G35 Sedans
Lexus IS 300s
BMW Sedans

Any info on these cars (maintenance?), or reccomendations on other rides would be great.

you should be able to get a GS300 for that much. Its more reliable and better than any cars you have listed.

The only issue I see with your list of vehicles is that to get down to the $15,000 price limit, you're going to have some higher km's. If this is going to be your family vehicle I'm assuming you want something pretty reliable. I would add the Nissan Maxima to your list. For the same money you should be able to get something with much lower km's and they are very reliable.

On Team Mclarens note, this would without a doubt be the car I would pick up.

GS430 are fantastic reliable cars which are much more luxurious than any of the cars you listed and faster too.

^^ Holy plug! :)

Though I agree - that would be a great car. I also used to have an Audi A6 4.2, which I really loved. Not quite as fast, but as luxurious as possible on the inside and looked pretty sweet.

Only prob with the GS is that they only came in Auto.
Look at a 2000-2004 Audi A6. I picked up mine for $15k and it only had 55,000km. Available 6spd with the 2.7T (same as the S4) or tiptronic 4.2L V8.

None of the cars on that list are fast.
If you have a family I'd go for the biggest car interior wise. Putting a car seat in the IS300, 3series and A4 is not going to be fun.

I bought my Maxima for the exact reason you are looking for a 4-door car. It has never let me down. 3.5L V6 has plently of power (255 horsepower, 220-ish lb/ft of torque). It's fully loaded, and surprisingly cheap on insurance - we only pay $95/month.

It has been the perfect car for our little family, however our second child will arrive any minute now (due date was yesterday), and we're buying an SUV -2005 Envoy- this week.

You should buy my Maxima.

Lol, I have no connection to the seller I swear, I just thought it was a pretty solid deal, almost for half a second gave me a little bit of buyers remorse for just buying my SC4.

98+ LS400's are great, also look at 2003+ ES300 (sometimes if your lucky you can find them in your price range),

I had no idea that you could get A6' for that kinds of prices in the used market. Seems like a good value for money buy! however Audi Reliability/costs leave much to be left desired.

You want A6 over A4? The 6 is more roomy but I like the looks of the 4.

How about a e39 bmw 5 series? You should be able to find a 03 530i or maybe a 540i, I used to have one and loved it

Id have to suggest a GS300, my aristo feels great and nothing closer to it than a GS300! Great cars, proven reliability. However you're right, only auto, and RWD so not quite as good in winter as say a maxima :dunno:

Back seat in an A4 is pretty tight. I'm a tall guy (6'7") and it's pretty impossible to sit behind me, so unless you're short, that might be a concern.

Try looking at www.repo.com they have a couple of Audi's right now (A4 and A6) forget the prices though....

Something about used older Audi just doesn't sit right but I've never owned one so I don't know how good or bad they are. I had an 02 IS300 5spd with LSD and I loved the car. So much fun to drive, very comforable and you didn't see them everywhere.

A4's and A6's are terrible cars for ownership costs, I'd look at TL's, IS300s long before an older audi.

BMW 3's arent as bad unless its an auto allwheeldrive model.
