I've had:

1. Vinyl/Landau Roof
2. Fake Wood Paneling
3. Talking Cars
4. Automatic Seat Belts
8. Digital Dashboards
10. Fake Air Intakes/Outputs/Hood Scoops

In fact, 4 of those were on my old New Yorker ;)
Automatic seatbelts were hilarious for like a week. We'd get to a light and I'd say my rear right rear felt flat and ask my passenger to lean out and check. The seatbelt would end up around their neck.

I've had none of those in that list. Phew :)

However I completely disagree with CF accents. Looks nice IMO and cars these days are coming with interior accents.

Digital dashes are only fun when you're young...And the fun only last for about a week.

I have a talking car though :( :nut: :nut:

CF can be tacky at times, but when done right, I think it looks pretty damn good...

I still think talking cars were a good idea for people who ignore guages,i remember as a kid i was riding with my aunt in her 84 Dodge 600 when the voice said "your engine is overheating immediate attention is required"she pulled into the next gas station right away and had it checked over,i doubt a light or guage would have made her stop so quickly to fix the problem.

Someone forgot the LED washer jets or the offset racing stripes or anything behind the cages in the Canadian Tire automotive section.

How can aluminum wing spoilers NOT be on that list? That is one of the tackiest of all!

Why doesn't beyond just start producing lists like this, before the Americant's have a chance to mess it up?

Hit and miss. Just do it right. Same with Carbon accents. GT Carrera interiors are sick and use so much CF without making it look OD.

I thought it funny that they blamed large SUV's for the current state of the automotive industry in the US.

edit: I agree with the above post, Truck Balls have to be the worst accessory ever. Stupidest thing ever.

They aren't talking about aftermarket accesories, they're talking about oem items and offerings.

That list sucks, I see nothing wrong with fake wood paneling.

At least 7 of those things are included in every car on 'Pimp My Ride'.

Fake wood panelling on the Jeep Wagoneer looked terrific, in my opinion. And I sort of thought Landau roofs on some of the crappy looking big American cars in the 70s and 80s actually improved the appearance of some pretty ugly cars.

Huge decals looked pretty good on some cars, too - I can think of several Porsches where that looked great. And those automatic seatbelts, while a pain to use, were a way of having "passive" restraints while manufacturers were gearing up for airbags. They weren't very convenient, but they worked decent for the time.

And big SUVs? Okay, I'll admit that H2s are starting to look pretty ridiculous, but there's loads of advantages of having a big SUV, and this is hardly a design flaw. I really wouldn't want a big Suburban-sized vehicle, but I think there's plenty of reasons to have one. Of course, it's not politically correct to see any merits in these things, hence the MSN criticism.

Overall, pretty crappy list.

Not sure if this was ever OEM - but chrome wheel arches. Especially on cars like Cavaliers or Corollas:

#11 Rusty hoods.

Still blows me away people think a rusty car is "cool" in any manner.

I think things like truck nuts and underglow were left off the list simply because there were never enough on the road to count.

I have a thing for rusty cars, not sure why. Also, the idea of seeing a beat up body with some sort of sick engine swap passing $$$ supercars makes me smile every time.

+1 on the chrome wheel arches.

I concur. Big SUV's can swallow a lot of shit, and are useful in their own way. But the trendy thing right now seems to compare people who own Suburbans to rapists.

I believe Ford offered the 05' Mustang with spinning rims as an option. They weren't like 290 inch chrome mother fuckers or anything, but they were spinning rims none the less.

1. Vinyl/Landau Roof - meh.. have seen it look good
2. Fake Wood Paneling - still wood panelling.. if done right looks awesome
3. Talking Cars - I'm pretty sure KIT could kick anyone's ass.
4. Automatic Seat Belts - lol with the guy who got his friends with these.
5. Spinning Rims - never seen an OEM car with these, but yeah very gay
6. Branded Decals - agreed except for cars like the cuda with the big HEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII down the side.. I think that looks cool.
7. Carbon Fiber Accents - either awesome or rice
8. Digital Dashboards - I wish my car had nightvision HUD :P
9. Huge SUVs - hey.. some people are fat or have small penises. this goes for jacked up diesels..
10. Fake Air Intakes/Outputs/Hood Scoops - fake or not.. they still add more hp than VTEC decals, which is braggable.

While we're on old fads.... sequential taillights.. high five to ford.. I saw a new mustang the other day and the flashing made my heart happy.

There are 2 diffrent kinds of spinners.

http://www.lwnt.com/wheels/530-7965b-spinner.JPG
the 3 bars in the middle are "spinners" you'd find ford offering OEM

http://www.just-spinner-rims.com/images/spinner-car-3.jpg

ghetto spinners...

My addition to that list of OEM nastiness would be the 'gold trim packages' seen in the early 90's.

Pearl white Lexuses (Lexi?) with gold trim were everywhere, and hideous.

FAKE cf trim and clear tail lights are the worst....
