Integra theft rate in Alberta

I keep reading about how Integras are the most stolen vehicles in North America, especially Type Rs.

Does anyone know if Alberta is consistent with this? Do a lot of Integras/Type Rs get stolen in this province?

Since they are plentiful and the crack addict just needs a ride. A lot of cares aren't stolen for the car... either just transportation, joy ride, or to use in another crime.

Looks like I'll have to rethink my plan about the '04 wrx though, haha.

Actually, many high volume cars are stolen for parts.

Instead of paying for a part, steal a car, take the part and dump the rest.

ANY car can be reconfigured with a kill switch somewhere in the chassis as long as you know basics of how a piston engine operates, pick any one system whether it be fuel or ignition or even both would be better, doesnt matter, the car will never get stolen... in a 5 minute period which IMO is way too long for any thief to loiter under the steering column, jacking it via tow truck is another story.

Knowing a little about electricals/FSM schematics(not even needed) and some creativity, you can make an EF/EG civic harder to steal than any laser key cut/immobilizer system because that/those switch(es) will always be there, obviously thieves have bypassed those OEM features. I wonder if honda realizes now that the immobilizer idea was/is pretty retarded cause the thieves just rip out your ECU, and use their ECU/Key combo.

Kill switches aren't exactly impossible to bypass man. If they really want the car, kill switches aren't going to stop them.

sure, but can you picture a thief going to check connections/fuses/relays for the starter, fuel pumps, ECU power source etc, bring a test light, connect alligator clips to get it to work.
Who knows maybe this thief will be lucky and no one will see him underneath the dash for half an hour. maybe he carries around spare relays of all types and soldering equipment to make his own harnesses cause hes that crazy.

but like i said you cut ignition and/or fuel supply in series somewhere or multiple places, i'll bet you 8/10 the guy is going to give up after 2 mins, stealing cars especially hondas are easy to these guys, they have it down to a science.. when all the wires are connected.

kill switches have saved my car from being stolen before. just make sure they are well hidden and not wired in obvious spots.
