$1000 budget, what would you buy?

So, it is time for a new laptop, and I am setting a budget of about $1000.

some things i want are:

i would like a full size keyboard with number pad
17" screen would be awesome
would like a fairly decent graphics card

of course, everything is negotiable, the above is just what i would like.

get one of the refurb Gateway FX 17" gaming notebooks on Tiger Direct. Last time they were $899.

That gets you an amazing 1900*1200 screen and a Geforce 9800m GTS to fill it with pixels.

You can probably talk down Computer Trends to about $1000 if they have any left.

The case is great for sorting coke off of and is shiny enough to watch yourself fucking hookers - like a mirror.
