I was thinking about getting one but those horendous Altezza lights would make me put a gun to my head if I had to look at them every day. I heard they make regular taillights but can't seem to find a pic anywhere.

well the car is an altezza. If you dont want altezza lights on you altezza, then perhaps another car should be sourced out. I personally like the tails on that car. Im not a fan of them on any other car, but stock altezza's/IS300's are hot.

Yes they do make them for the IS300. When I was in vancouver I saw several IS300's with aftermarket taillights that were solid red, looked really nice.

I saw the Altezza lights when I was in Japan in 1998. But I never would've thought they would be so big. They're made for almost every single car on the road - even North American trucks!

Props to you for being different.

"Altezza, buy the whole car, not just the tail lights."

ive read that in japan altezza owners end up covering the clear part with a coloured panel matching the car to avoid looking like all the other ppl that get altezzas

Yup, I've seen that here around Calgary several times. It was something similar to this thing:

they have the tail light covers and they also have the carbon fibre altezza lights... that's all i've seen

none of those options are acceptable. Light covers are worse than altezzas and painting....let's not go there. The goal is to become less rice not more rice lol.

Thanks for the input guys.

i wouldn' touch an is300 tail lights, they nice, and stock altezza's so you can't shouldn't really worry about neone "flaming" you for them, and if they do their stupid for not realizing that they stock.

i wouldn't touch them either; they look nice.
if you don't wanna look "rice" then try jdm style:

http://www.is300.net/store/customer/product.php?productid=64&cat=13&page=1

that's the closest you are going to get to changing those tail lights - but why?

Most aftermarket altezzas lack the 90 degree red reflector.. (making them sorta illegal?) anyone ever been called on that?
I noticed those JDM lights dont have that reflector either...
