I would never clean door jams with a hose, wouldn't you get water everywhere inside?

And the 409, dear god.

Yes... but he said he would get to the interior later.... I'm sure direct water couldn't POSSIBLY fuck up the leather after sitting on it for half an hour...

"Give a light coat of water, because all the chemicals we use are water activated" Uh, what?

What exactly is the problem here with using 409 though? He isn't washing the car with it... mainly doing the tires/wheels and engine... not sure why he would do the door jambs with it though.

Kinda pissed me off when he used the brush on the rims lol.. :banghead:

I think just in general that guy is using very amateur techniques to "detail" the car, which is why we're all getting so pissed at him. He uses the sprayer and he obviously is getting water into the interior, spraying it on the leather, into the trunk.. Terrible. Like someone on YouTube had said, that's probably what you do to a lawnmower, not a 180 k luxury car.

I used to see the same thing going on at Country Hills Toyota when I worked as a "detailler" too. I remember spraying down BMW M5s, Acura RLs and stuff the same way. I surely would never do that at home but thats how stuff was done at the dealership. We actually got more water into the interior because we had no ordinary hose, it was all pressured stuff. They would just stick 2 huge fans in the car and let it dry for 2 hours with the windows open. That is why I learned how to detail at home and wouldn't ever let anyone polish or "detail" my family's cars.

oh yeah, there was only one person that knew how to use a power polisher and he wasn't exactly good at it. (holograming on dark cars)

I usually get asked to fix things like this. The leather in that Bentley is probably uncoated, so water will ruin the leather faster than conventional leather seats you find. It really is rather sad, but that's usually what happens when people try to cheap out on a detail. They find someone who has been doing this for "20 years" and he can detail you entire car in 2 hours inside and out! I will admit, I take my sweet time with cars, but I do them right...and at the very minimum I don't damage your car!

Holy cow!!!! It's a chevy 409!!!
He's a goof, but is using diluted 409 really a big deal? Do detailing places use pure Aquafina instead or what?

I've been detailing 7 years, and that guy definitely broke a few cardinal rules.

I was talking about Proboscis's link...
I've seen how Bentleys get driven, holy water is hardly fitting!!!
Buddy is a douche though. Hope the owner of the car doesn't watch this!!!

i think 409 or whatever gettin oversprayed onto the leather (that he'll take care of later) is probably got to be the scariest thing

What is sad is...Aquafina is usually 9-12 PPM...Water that touches the cars is 0.00PPM.
