not sure how youd park it like that if the rims broke off already, without having it towed etc..

Man, I never want to piss anyone off bad enough to have them to that to my car!!!

They don't look cut at all, looks more like they are snapped. The break marks aren't smooth rather rough like broken cast aluminum.

Strange...

lol i see that everyday. its across the parking lot from my work when i stop at mcd's!

So fucked hey?

TDFTW

and the car was taken for a joyride and lost control went sideways through a field and hit some bumps, sheared the wheels. according to the mech. at certigard that is waiting on parts to fix it.

Joe-G
07-13-2009, 04:41 PM
Either it was vandalism, or the wheel(s) were faulty?
Looks like it either broke at the spokes, or someone intentionally did it.

you see grass under the car so TDFTWs story is probably what happened. i never knew you could break wheels by going sideways

Deetz
07-13-2009, 04:45 PM
If you look closer at the pics, you can see all kinds of grass and mud in there, it definitely has some action in the recent past

Curbed it hard for sure, there is no way that's vandalism. Probably had it towed to the nearest lot until he could figure out what to do. Could have even been drunk, slammed the car, called a tow truck to bring it into the lot and then cabbed it home to sober up. Should be a nice $7000 repair bill.

Rear wheel: Definitely hit a curb sliding sideways. I watched an STI do this a few years ago taking the westbound 16 ave off-ramp to Sarcee. (after seriously cutting me off) Almost pissed myself laughing.

I think it just needs an alignment and it's good to go.

I've had wheels explode on impact after being airborne, I've had wheels snap right in 1/2 after curbing the car at 100km/hr. Anyone who was a reckless driver when they were young has done their fair share of wheel, hub, control arm repairs. :banghead: :thumbsdow

Correction... Actually.... That looks like an STI wanna-be. First, it's missing those tiny rear fender flares. Second, the front seats aren't STI seats. In fact, they look like they came from an 02/03 or worse yet, an non-sport RS!

Not an STi.

It could be a 2004 without fender flares, but it has a sunroof. No STi except for the limited in 2007 had a sunroof.

Front brakes are painted black.

Wheels look like exploding rota's not stock STi wheels.

STi wannabe for sure.

haha deffinately not an sti lol...this is my buddy's old car, its just a wrx with sti stickers, similar-to sti wheels, spoiler, and mismatched seats. you can also tell by the sideskirts, no front lip, and hood scoop... it does have a complete greddy turbo upgrade though :dunno:

Why try to make your car look like something it's not? Kind of felt bad for the guy at first...until it was revealed that he was a (possibly drunk) knock-off field drifter.

Even with STI suspension it's still an understeering pig... Couple that with turbo and inexperience (and apparently possibly booze) and you get this.

I can just hear the conversation right before he smacked it...

Why would anyone go through the trouble of adding all those parts (wheels (the center caps don't look BBS though), hood, spoiler, etc) to a regular WRX right down to the decals? I looked at the calipers but couldn't tell if they were the gold Brembos or not by the pics. The damage to the car is probably karma for being a fake lol.

Wheels are definitely not BBS. You can see the large Axis style centre cap sitting there.

If you look carefully, the normally shiny Axis logo in the middle of the wheel has a black BBS decal slapped overtop of it. That's what you get for being a ricer.
