Is the purchase price of an iPhone firm? Meaning if someone were to buy one outright for 800 dollars would there be negotiation room? I.E. other electronics

Lowest I have known, my friend got it for $149 from Rogers. ( $50 credit, not much )

Well I sold my 3G for 550 on eBay. The 3G is just too slow for me with the new 3.0 update. 250 bucks seems like a steal.
