Hey Benyl, thanks for the link, but at the $1000 mark i would prefer a pro unibody over a regular macbook unibody.

um, they are exactly the same.

They just put a new name on it.

The CPU is slower by around 200 mghz, and also from convo with scary_perry, the keyboard is not backlit either. I did some research on the 2.0 ghz cpu, it is an intel p7350 as opposed to the entry level p7450 in the pro, and the p7450 scores about 20% better in cpu benchmarking.

plus with pro prices being dropped to the 1249 mark for students I feel that my asking price is fair, as even $1000 is not even a 25% reduction on a brand new price.

Also, anyone who buys a new pro, will get it for $1249 new with a free ipod touch, the user can then sell the touch and be close to a grand buying new... so used for less than 1000 seems fair.

If i can't get a used one at a decent price, I will end up buying from the store.

The great thing about scary perry's laptop which makes his a good deal, is the fact that it has apple care for 3 years, and upgraded ram. With applecare being worth around 300 it is awesome for a general user! Unfortunately with me having experience as a computer tech for over a year, and now holding a comp sci degree, the extended warranty doesnt really do much cause I can fix almost all computer errors or even sauder circuitry myself.

Also in regards to the link which you sent, if you look at the posts, I had already discussed his machine with him before even creating this thread.

I do feel that his macbook is a fair deal, but just not what I need.

Wasn't looking to spend more than 1g. Otherwise I will just get the base pro for 1299 student pricing and get a free ipod touch!

Thanks though!
