okay i switch to shaw high speed today and i can't d/l any torrents like it won't starta nd just sits thier. my computer is hooked directly to the box, no router. is thier a firewall on the box? if so anyoen know how to make it work?

shaw doesn't have firewall.
how many seed/leecher does your torrent have?
what torrent client came from?

Torrents work fine on shaw. The problem with with you or your setup.
I'm betting it's you.

Some routers have built-in firewalls so you might want to check the settings. You should also check which port your bittorrent program is running through and make it's correctly port-forwarded to the right IP address of your computer

The dude said he wasn't using a router...

I don't ever use the windows firewall, but if its enabled there is a chance it may be interfering with the torrent working.

Shaw's service area doesn't include Vietnam. There's your problem right there. :D

It's probably Norton... cause when there's connectivity issues, 80% of them are caused by that horrible software.

okay i tested out a few torrent sites and it seems some torrent works and some don't, even tho thier alot of leechers / D/L. the ones that don't work it will just stay red when open in utorrent. the odd thing is when i was with telus i can d/l any torrent and now im just limited to some of them. also i have no firewall and my g/f also have a similar problem, her d/l speed on torrent would be like 10 kb but d/l from anyother source 300+
