I've found one place that does it, left them a message but haven't heard back from them yet. Anyone know of other places that'll do testing?

I want to find my heart rate zones so I can optimize my running/biking/stair climbing training. Also, they have some other pretty cool tests too.

Anyone ever get tested? How much does it cost? I'm guessing it'd be around $100-200...

I never got this tested personally, but when I was training for a half marathon. There was a group training to qualify for the Boston Marathon and they had to get tested for VO2 max, the only place they talked about was Peak Power. $100 is around the range that I recall.

My personal experience with them is for body composition tests (body fat %) and haven't been disappointed with this yet.

If you are looking for others, might just have to call some of the higher performance locations (Lindsey Park or someone at U of C training centers).

It's a little buried on the site, but under individual coaching they have this list of prices

They are on Memorial right by crowchild/river.

All they do is various vo2/LT testing and now cyclepower trainers.

They are the only ones any of my tri groups have spoken about.

Oh if you're looking for your heart rate zones, do a 30 min peak effort (where you're dead at the end), start your HRM 10 mins into it, then that last 20 mins avg will be pretty damn close to your LT threshold.

You can then use this spreadsheet to get your zones.

My husband has had it done at U of C at the Kinesiology dept.

They look for test subjects at U of C for graduate studies at the Human Performance Lab. They do it for free if you are lucky enough to fit their criteria at the time of the studies. I think they give you free stuff as incentive to come as well.

They are not looking for VO2 atm but maybe in the future http://www.kin.ucalgary.ca/hpl/subjects/index.html If you keep your eye on it and are lucky enough, maybe they'll have your criteria. Or you can pay them i think.

Don't pay for a predictive test - that's a waste of money.

You need to be blowing into a measuring device or it isn't a VO test.
