Might want to look into the Tamron 28-75 F2.8.
80% of the Canon's performance for 50% of the cost.

Panos suck, so it's all good. ;)

No offence, but you can take good panos with a point n shoot and a spherical tripod head. http://gregwired.com/pano/Pano.htm

That's blasphemy.

89coupe says that panos are the hardest things to shoot, and everything else takes no skill at all.

What do you think one is worth? I passively have one for sale. Having both the 24-105 and 17-55, the 24-70 has hardly been used at all so I probably wouldn't miss it.

Unless you have a nikon 24-70 to trade; I'd go for that. :)
