The VIN sticker on my car is starting to peel. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but the car is getting repainted and other than the fact that I have to work around this hanging sticker, it already looks the worse for wear (this is the 2nd full paintjob the car has seen).

Am I allowed to remove the sticker and reattach it later?

Can I order a new VIN sticker?

Can I just remove the sticker? The VIN is already stamped in the engine bay twice and there is the tag on the dash... Seems a little redundant.

I'm just concerned that there is some gay law that if you remove the VIN you can't register a vehicle or some shit.

no you can't remove it. You might be able to apply for a new one from IBC since they handle VINs, but really, why the fvck do you want to get involved in a govn't process. Just leave it.
