Iphone help

Anyone have Rogers iphone? I need your help when you go to settings then click on carrier. There is automatic and rogers which one has the check mark on your guys phone???

Mine says ROGERS. I have the 3.0 firmware update and all that. Not jailbroken.

mine says rogers but when i click on it it has a check on automatic is this the right setting?

Yeah over the last 2 days I have found parts of the city where even though it shows full signal strength and 3G it will work, just very very slowly. Usually if I drive a few blocks it would work just fine though.

3G with 3.0 is brutal now. I quickly sold mine and grabbed the 3GS.

My 3g is perfectly fine on 3.0 and works like a charm. And that carrier setting just leave that as automatic.

If you used a hacked unlock, this sometimes happens without warning or explaination. It happened to me at the most random times overseas, and even had a full day where it was stuck in no service mode even though I had full signal the day before. Very frustrating.

Interesting information, what do you mean by hacked unlock? I used ultrasn0w on mine, but this happened before unlocking it, the phone was only jailbroken at the time.

Ya, I've never had any problems until I jailbroke and ultrasn0w'd my 3G so I can use it overseas. I'm not sure which one fucked it up, JB or ultrasn0w. When I got back, I decided to buy a factory unlocked 3GS and use it with no jailbreak, zero problems overseas or at home.

I hear jailbreak fucks up on 3.0, you lose push notifications, and the hack broadcasts your IM's to every hacked phone nearby or something weird.
