On July 20, 2009 vocalist Adam Yauch announced the cancellation of tour dates due to the discovery of a cancerous tumor in one of his salivary glands and a lymph node. He was shortly thereafter found dead in his living room. The announcement was made on the Beastie Boy's YouTube channel
