Hello,

My wife is super bored at home and wants to get a job, here is the catch, she has recently moved to Canada like 1 month ago, we are going to vacation in 1 month, and then after we are back she is going to school during daytime.

She is really up to doing anything, restaurants, coffe places, baby sitting ect.

Anyone have any idea for the types of jobs that are super flexible like this. Basically she wants to work for a month full time, then when we are back from the vacation work weekends only. Any suggestions for types of jobs that could accomidate this?

I am just looking for idea really

Depending on what her skills/previous work experience is, I would suggest temping if she has office experience. A week here, a week there, if she's good, they can probably keep her busy the entire month.

She is a nurse in Japan and is in the process of getting her certifications ect transfered over which takes forever, and while we wait she wants to do something. Previously worked as a sushi chef, but she is really not picky, just wants to keep busy and make some money. Thanks Amysicle for the input.

You know, I bet summer camps are probably looking for people. Well maybe not really but I mean say they hire everyone in May/June to run summer camps in July/August and some of those employees decide they're not cut out to handle kids, perhaps they'll need someone to fill in?

Not exactly meeting your criteria, but it seems somewhat flexible. http://www.ymcacalgary.org/web/Default.aspx?cid=3999&lang=1

Besides a temp agency I cant see any employer having something so on and off. Would be easier after your vacations and when she's in school and has a known schedule to find something to fill in the days/hours of boredom.

7-11 has very very flexible scheduling. Not much for pay, and DEFINITELY not a glamorous job but its just an idea. Lots of locations are hiring too.

 don't you mean free-lance?

sorry OP, jk I agree with that temp agencies would be the best although she'd have to be pre-screened and then wait for calls which takes time too.

Importing your meat. That a boy. I started to date mine the day after she got her citizenship. :bigpimp:

Anyways why doesent she try Starbucks? Its a little more "upscale" then 7-11.

What about teaching Japanese? Probably quite flexible since most ppl would prefer evenings and weekends.

I mean if she could get say 5 students for like a 1-hour session at like $20 each, it's better than working at starbucks or any other retail place all day.

Camps for sure - day camps for kids, youth camps, etc.

Waitressing would be the best, especially if she wants to only work weekends in about a month. You can't really do that with the other suggestions unless she is into the escort thing :poosie: and in that case post some pics :D

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, gives us lots of idea. I like the idea of teaching Japanese, she should so do that. Starbucks is actually pretty good idea too, hell most of the idea would work. I will discuss with her, thanks!

I knew a chick who started a dog walking "business". Pretty good idea depending on the area you live in I guess.
