I borrowed a friend's ps3 for the week. My dad wants to see how the bluray player is since he's thinking about buying one and so I wanna rent a couple of DVDs that demonstrate the blu ray at its best. What do you guys recommend?

what you should do is rent a movie that you currently have, that way, you can do a direct comparison for him.

fifth element is probably a good one. also, the lobby scene from the matrix part one is a good one.

Planet Earth is one of the best to show off blu ray capabilities.

^ planet earth. Mission impossible is a good one too. Black hawk down is one of the original release but still shines compared to the DVD.

Make sure your home theatre can do dts-HD or dd+ or there is no point really.

The Dark Knight is a real good one, especially those 6 scenes that use the full screen one of which is the opening robbery really look amazing.

Ironman, Blade Runner and 2001 are also very good.

Iron Man is good for showing high speed tracking and color balancing.
