I'm looking at picking up a tripod, specifically this one . . .

Anyone have any feedback on this guy? The only way to buy is to order off ebay or directly from the company so there's no local retailer to go test it out.

Any other good ones to recommend? I want something light and easy to travel with.

This one is not a bad deal if you don't mind the weight.

How much are you wanting to spend? And how much weight are you willing to deal with?

Probably $300 - $400 and I'd like to get the lightest one that fits within that budget.

It'll be my only tripod so I'd like for it to be lightweight so that I can take it with me when I travel.

Don't forget to factor in the price of a head, and that the light ones aren't as steady in the wind.

I have 3 flashpoint carbon fiber tripods that all work very well. With the ball head its around $300 without the shipping for one.

I've had the Feisol CT-3442 for a while now and I couldn't be happier. I also can't tell the difference in build quality between it and any Gitzo I've seen. Also I've heard nothing but good about Feisol customer service should something break. When I was looking, it was cheaper, smaller, stronger, and lighter than a comparable Gitzo. Holds a D300, 300/4, 1.4 TC, Markins Ballhead & a wimberley sidekick no problem.
