I was digging through my D90 box, and I found a piece of paper (one with the carbon copy as its second layer) that looks like it is for warranty work. Do I only need to fill that out if I need to send my camera in for warranty? Or I have to send it in now for registration in order for my camera?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, but I'd hold onto it incase you had a problem. Whenever we send cameras out for repair all you really need is proof of purchase.

Where did you purchase your camera? Usually stores take the top 2 layers of that card and send them into Nikon for you.

They didn't take anything from me. Except for my money LOL

Not to worry. All Nikon really needs is the receipt to do warranty work. As mentioned though, hang on to it for sure just in case.

The warranty paperwork is usually a 3-layer carbon-copy sheet. (White, pink, yellow IIRC)

if it's any consolation when I sent my D50 away twice all they wanted was a copy of my receipt.. Nothing more..Well, my name and address to send it back..
