i think my pace car/all 98 pace cars look aweful on paper. i never considered buying one because i thought it was so ugly, untill i saw it in person....no pictures do it justice.

all a matter of opinion, i thought the pace cars were fugly as soon as they came out, even after seeing them in person.

the as tested price of that corvette was 56k us, 18 grand more than the cobra.

even if the zo6 is 55k, its still 17 grand more than the cobra. just think what you could do with 17 grand to a motor thats already prepped for forced induction ;)

not denying that...but im talking about stock...and for under 60k u cant get better than a vette....if talking about mods for price get a omni...those lil things are wicked.......but no doubt i respect the new cobra...very nice piece of machinery....but...ZO6 is better

okay, but then you could extend it to 80,000 and under, and the vette would get squashed, there are really no other $60,000 cars designed to compete with the vette.

the svt costs 17 grand less, and is barely outperformed.

do you really think ford couldn't up the price by a few grand, and blow the vette out of the water?

Dont forget the cobra weighs alot, and is already supercharged. Throw a blower on the vette and its in a new league. Its beating the cobra without even beginning to tap the wonders of forced induction :)

AND it gets 30mpg hwy :D

If you mean any stock 4 cylinder well duh...but I am assuming you mean any modded 4 cylinder.

You can take a type R engine and mod the shit out of it and make it 450 hp. Which (when the turbo activates) would rape the cobra. But ofcourse it would cost a lot but not impossible. Oh and a Nissan Skyline GT-R would rape both the cobra and the vettes you are talking about. I have a lot of respect for Cobras and Vettes but to bash imports like they have nothing, no thanks...

Also, another car that would put up a fight against a Cobra would be a Lancer Evo...320 hp for the Evo VIII would be close as goes the Subaru Impreza WRX. I own a 1997 Acura Integra Type-R with 310 hp (have dyno paper to prove it). So, when it comes to domestics vs. imports no one wins, there are equal competitors in every category.

When comparing the Vettes price range to other cars you have missed a key import. The toyota supra (base price 50,000 roughly) 500 hp....go to www.suprastore.com to see what you can get for the price of a vette. Vette is a lengendary car with a shit load of power, but it doesn't compare to a 1000+ hp supra for 70,000.

The sti is 4 cylinder as well as evo and if you speak modded vehicles there is no limit. Street driven civics running high 11 sec quarters is nothing to smock at and that was 4 yrs ago.
