Saw this Espada (atleast that's what I think it was) the other day. I've never seen on before and though it was kinda cool.

Sorry about the shitty photo, every time I tried to get close and snap a pic the guy sped off.

Front for reference.

I bet 99% of people don't know what it is.

Looks a bit funny with that huge back end. But I bet it turned a lot of heads back in the day.

Good find. I learned about a new car today!

I think this is the one I was watching Leno talking about on his garage show, Jay's Garage. He said he's got to wait 5-10 minutes for the oil to warm up and that it has the same engine from another Lamborghini, I think the Countache? I can't remember, but it's apparently well underrated.

Cool spot!

Definitely one of the less known Lambos.

From the pic OP posted, the rear tail lights remind me of a old school Mustang.

I've always loved the Espada. I mean, it's not exactly pretty. But Lambo V12 goodness and four proper seats? Hells yeah.

Damn, would have never guess that was a Lambo.

whoah, a 4 seater lambo?

No it doesn't share the same engine as the Countach. That car shared the same engine as did the "cheetah" which was an ULTRA expensive SUV designed for Oil Sheiks and the like. Even used (now 15 or so years old) they sell for in and around $250k CAD

Actually, the cheetah was a one-off prototype built for the military that had a 180hp chrysler engine in it...It was destroyed because it handled so badly (weighed about 4500lbs). Then they tried again with the LM001 with an AMC engine, but finally landed on the LM002 with a full redesign and the lambo V12 your talking about...released in the late 80's. Maybe 86 or 87?

Edit: I forgot to mention that the production featured the V12 that was indeed shared with the countach

The American army blew up an LM002 they found in Sadam Hussein's Palace because they didn't know what it was. I think there was only a couple hundred made haha.

Imagine the lengths you got to go to find a windshield if the unfortunate happens. Hope he wasn't hitting deerfoot north. Great spot

These are expensive? I read I think on dtmpower back in the day that they were a Lamborghini failure and could actually be had pretty cheap, some high school kid had one. Never thought they were collector items. Ugly as shit anyways, I was expecting a lambo, but kind of a cool spot.

It's a 1971 version S2. Great find and cool to have this in Calgary.

It looks like the design team barfed up a bunch of styling cues and smooshed them all together. What were they thinking when they designed that thing? None the less, awesome rare spot.

350hp V12, and I believe Lambo's only used one V12, the same one from the Muira to the Murcielago. So yes, I do believe it's a Countach motor.
