I'm going to pick up a 300 GEOG this winter and was wondering what would be interesting/useful to take on the business/economics side of things.
Ill probably do 341 but are there any others, has anyone taken geographical information systems? (357)

thanks

I took Geog 357 awhile ago. It's interesting and not too bad if you're good with computer programs. Labs are the biggest part of this course.

Personally, I liked Geog 333 better (Remote Sensing) than the GIS course. More science oriented and could be applied more to economic applications. Prof is better too if Greg McDermid is teaching it. Stay away from Marika Hall-Beyer (MHB), she's boring, doesn't teach well and is a hard marker. She typically teaches the GIS course.

You'd probably clean up in Economic Geography but it doesn't get into the math of economics at all.

There's always Geog 371, Latin America. Crappy course but most MC tests can be found as a good study guide.
