Check out bimmerforums.com. Bought mine from a guy in New York last year for $500.

Also, give the guys at bimmer-parts.ca a call. They're a wrecker in Duncan, BC. Sometimes they have a couple sitting around.

^ Probably the same guy. Check the input, output, and rear flange seals on your new one. Mine were all completely shot, but it's dead easy and cheap to change them yourself before you get it into the car.

u can get a 3.23 LSD for 500 shipped.

for 600 shipped a 3.38 LSD

3.38 is the one to get! but anythings better than the 2.93 or w/e for the 328 open diff haha.

Hey 97 scort, what is the flanges for the 97 328is?
oh by the way i finally sold the RD's to some guy from the states. too bad I wont ever see them locally ever again :(

Enjoy!

Well, good news for you anyways! Hopefully the guy realizes the deal he got.

Not sure what you mean by "what is the flanges," so I'll just try and answer.

When you swap a LSD into a 328, you will need to do one of two things: replace the output shaft flanges on your new diff with the ones from your open diff, or you will need to get M3 halfshafts.

As for the oil seals, there are 4 of them: one on input (absolute BITCH to do on the car), one rubber one on each of the drive outputs (easy to do on the car, easier to do off), and the cover plate gasket (waaaaay easier to do off the car).

just a quick question - general a differential with a higher locking percentage is more desireable, correct? For instance, I see many 25% locking 3.38 LSD's, whereas 3.46 LSD's are 40%.

I was under the impression that the percentage referred to the amount of wheel slippage allowed before the clutch pack engages. So if you want it to lock up sooner, get the 25%, or if you'd rather see a later engagement, get the 40.
