Hi there,

Just wanted to know if builders typically allow room of negotiating on a new unit (still building no one has moved in yet) or are they always firm on it?

If there is room for negotiations, how do you go about it and how much room is there usually on condos?

Thanks

really do your homework when dealing with builders.

Was talking to one my mortgage brokers today and lately cmhc has been giving many of the builders a hard time with their prices, and in some cases refusing to insure a property = no mortgage for you.

As long as you know comparible prices to use as a negotiating tool, you should be fine.

You can talk a buyers agent and ask what kind of incentives they have been giving recently. It should not be a problem to get some incentives.
