if you drained all the soup from every spoonful of noodles/beef/tripe you could probably do it, but holy crap that's alot of pho, sodium levels through the roof after that one lol

Wow, that bowl is huge! I'd do the challenge just to say I tried, but there would be no way I'd be able to drain the entire contents!

It's not bad for $22, that could feed a family haha.

Pfft, I have a friend that could finish this easy.

He did five Peters' Drive-In Triple Cheeseburgers and a milkshake in an hour last year.

I'd give it a try.
If you have to finish the soup too, then pho-get about it.

Point is that at least if you do 72oz steak challenge, you get free $30-$40 piece of meat...
Even if you win the pho challenge, you only win about $3 worth of rice noodles

Yeah, if I could get just straight rare steak I'd be all over that. I'd fail miserably but I'd go home and pass out in bliss.

That's actually a really smart idea since it's insurmountable by the majority of people who try and at $22/bowl, the restaurant would make a killing off this. It looks like 2 extra large bowls of pho.

I think it's possible, but like someone said, if you have to also drink the soup, that would suck

If you lose the 72oz steak, you probably pay $70. I really doubt that $70 steak is actually worth $30.

Yeah the pho is probably more of a "markup" but hell....stop being a nit, this is something you do when drunk then throw up noodles in the parkign lot after.

On their site it says it's the same as 4 XL bowls of pho, insane!

$55 in TO... you should give it a try
http://foodto.blogspot.com/2009/04/lone-star-72-oz-steak-challenge_19.html (not me btw)
hmmm let's see 72oz / 16oz/lb = 4.5lb x $6/lb (avg) = $27.00 + potato, fixings... fine, not quite $30... but better than rice noodles

That looks HUGE, and for the spoon, they are giving you a ladel

Also that would be hard to finish as depending on how much noodles they put in there, the longer time elapses the more the noodles suck up all that broth and it becomes a nasty mess to eat as evidenced here after 30 mins

yeah 30 minutes later looks gross. I'd take that pho over the steak though. I love them both, but pho looks tastier according to pics.

I'm pretty sure I could do it, but I'm not sure if I can handle all of that in my gut for long. I'd probably be walking around the block for the entire night just to get it to settle. Burps are going to be the best thing in the world.

I doubt you'd make it around the block,

for those pizza lovers. You can try the Vern's Pizza Challengehttp://farm2.static.flickr.com/1108/1456037815_035fdaf24c.jpg

one regular vern's "mama mia" pizza with 3 guys under a hour.

Lets just say we were out 50 bucks each on the bet.

^^ Oh god that's way too much. Pho is not as greasy so it's easier to stomach and get down. I'd be done in 2 pieces MAX. Dude, I'm full just looking at that.

:whipped:

MintRacer
09-08-2009, 08:22 PM
^^ after that escapade I'll never touch a vern's ever again. Each guy pretty much had to polish off 6 pieces first 3 pieces were fine.. but then it pretty much grinded to a halt on the fourth piece.

Who would have ever thought that they made a 10lb pizza.

So that pizza cost $150?

Just to be clear, I'm not viet.

But I've been literally saying it as "Nuke Bell" in the most Canadian-sounding way. The servers at Dau Bo usually gives me a blank look, then corrects me in an accent that I can never seem to reproduce... LOL

dj_rice

Nuke Bell is pretty close

To me, its nook bell, with the nook sounding like look with a n

Fug I should just put up a sound clip haha
