Police in California are looking for a former Calgary realtor after the body of a model he reportedly married was found in a briefcase left in a trash bin .

The naked body of Jasmine Fiore, 28, was discovered on Saturday morning behind an apartment complex in Buena Park, a city southeast of Los Angeles. She appeared to have been strangled, police said.

Lieut. Gary Worrall of the Buena Park Police Department said Ryan Jenkins, 31, is being sought as a "person of interest" in the case.

Jenkins reported Fiore missing to police on Saturday evening, Worrall told CBC News.

"He did report his significant other as missing and when we attempted to re-contact him to conduct further investigation, we've not been able to contact him. We find that suspicious," Worrall said. "At this point, he's merely a person of interest that we'd like to speak to."

Worrall said the couple were last seen together in San Diego the night before Fiore's body was found.

Police are looking for a Mercedes CLS550 that Jenkins may be driving.

Jenkins was a contestant on a reality TV show airing on VH1 called Megan Wants a Millionaire. Seventeen wealthy men, each with a net worth of more than $1 million, compete for the affection of model Megan Hauserman on the show.

On Tuesday, celebrity gossip site TMZ quoted Hauserman as saying Jenkins and Fiore got married two days after they met at a strip club in Las Vegas.

Jenkins listed Calgary as his hometown and investment banker as his occupation on the show's website.

"Says he has left many amazing women in his life primarily because he wanted more women," reads Jenkins' online biography.

A website for a Calgary company called Skyhomes listed Jenkins as the CEO and real estate associate.

This story is so fucked up it’s almost hard to comprehend. Thankfully TMZ writes at a level where you expect the story to have pop-up dinosaurs in it or furry swatches over drawings of a dog. The cliff notes are this:

- The body of a one-time Playboy model named Jasmine Fiore (above, right) was found in a trash bin, stuffed inside a suitcase, in Buena Park last Saturday morning.
- The suspect is a man named Ryan Jenkins, who was a finalist on the VH1 dating show, “Megan Wants a Millionaire.”
- The shows finale has not aired, but Jenkins was reportedly cut near the end. After he was cut, he went to Vegas, met Jasmine in a strip club, and married her two days later.
- Surprisingly, Jasmines roommate says their relationship was “on the rocks”. She also said that Jenkins told her he was “done with the relationship” and that “he couldn’t take it anymore”. This was one day after Jasmine was found in a dumpster.
- Jenkins is still on the run, and may be fleeing to Canada.

Wow, crazy story. I used to bump into Ryan and his girlfriend at the time, Paulina, a while ago when they both lived in a condo in the same building as me. We would always strike up a conversation whenever we were in the elevator together. I just sold the condo and had interviewed him when I was looking for a realtor and then dealt with him again when he was working for Concrete Equities.

He still owns the condo there and has a tenant in there right now. I guess whoever is in there now doesn't have to worry about paying for rent!

I never saw him driving the Benz that the media has been describing though. Last I saw him he was in a e90 bimmer, although he seemed to be changing cars every 3 months.

We've learned Ryan Jenkins -- the "potential suspect" in the murder of his wife, Jasmine Fiore -- has deep ties to an island off Honduras.


Jenkins' dad, Dan -- an architect -- helped develop a resort on the island of Roatan. He's credited as the "developer, president and architect" of the project. A rep from SOSA Airline in Honduras tells us Dan owns a 19-seat private jet.

Authorities believe Jenkins has fled to Canada. That country will not extradite someone charged with a death penalty offense in the United States. Of course, if Jenkins is charged with a non-capital crime, he could be extradited.

Honduras also provides for extradition, but only to the suspect's home county -- which we believe is Canada.

There are tons of places where you can just walk over the border without anyone knowing. Hell with a SUV you can drive right over. Then, there's the Indian reserves that sit between the 2 countries, and have no "border" inside where you can drive thru one side and get out the other...

We don't really have a fence like Mexico to separate the 2 countries over something like 10,000km.

I realized that we don't have a fence or anything. I know that the border between Waterton and Glacier National Park is just marked by a clearing cut into the trees. I just thought the border would probably be patrolled better through the use of cameras, infared, or some types of technology. Actually to be honest, I guess I've never really given it much thought at all.

Its surprising we don't have a bigger problem with illegal immigration than we do. Not many people want to move to Canada, too cold and expensive I guess. :dunno:

It's a lot tougher to sneak thru out east. Out west here, it's wide open. Sensors wouldn't really work with so much wildlife crossing the border all the time.

With so little manpower patrolling, you'd be able to sneak through a remote area, and it would take hours for someone to respond and find you in the right areas...

There's really no reason to have to sneak over the border unless you're moving drugs, or running away after stuffing your wife in a suitcase. Not many terrorists here, so there's really no need to defend and secure the border.
