I have a 1999 Acura 3.2TL. The Daytime Running Lights have been disconnected. When I turn on the high beams, only the right highbeam turns on, the left light seems to not turn on at all. (i have tried swapping bulbs, so it is not a blown bulb). The previous owner says that the "brain" of the car was replaced and the DRLs were not reattached when that was done.

What relay/fuse is involved with the DRLs? Where is it located? Need to get this fixed so it can pass an OOP inspection.

Thanks in advance.

Check the fuses under neath the driver side dashfor both the left high beam and the DRLs. There could just be missing or broken fuses for both!

It's the relay under the dash. Does the DRL light on the dash show up? I know they go out on the 94-97 accords, i just took out my friends and re-soldered it and that fixed the problem

This, working for the dealer this problem came up frequently, most of the time the customers opted not to buy the relay. Usually just left it unless one of the bulbs was burnt which can happen and throw the DRL light. Check that then decide if you'd like to resolder/buy one. It's a common issue with honda main relays, I.e main fuel relays on a number of honda/acuras, poor solder techniques from the factory are usually the fault.

Edit: it's a grey mitsuba relay iirc with blue base/connector receptacle , but make sure it's not the fuel relay, just in case they do use those on the 2.5/3.5 tls of that year

hmm ill check into it, all i know is that it was disconnected on purpose, shouldnt be a fault of the car. im taking a look at it soon

fuses look fine, not sure where the relay is though, is it on the drivers side too?

found the relay box, not sure if it's the issue though. so far, this is what i know:

1) the previous owner disconnected the DRL lights, he wrote this to me:
"The daytime running lights were disconnected when we did the electrical upgrade last spring. It didn't seem worth the effort to hook that back up.", no specifics on what hte electrical upgrade was.

2) the passenger side highbeam/drl light does not turn on at all

3) the drivers side highbeam/drl light only works on highbeam,

4) the DRL indicator light lights up when the lowbeams are not turned on

all things considered, i think the DRL relay circuit thing is broken...
