Nice Old School Celica

I was surfing the web for old school cars and at random found this one. There was no description but the background looks vaguely like Race City outside the oval. Does anyone recognize it? Nice looking ride.

Thanks, it's got Toyota 20r converted to fuel injection using SDS management turbocharged. Not sure really how much HP, but I'm only running 12 pounds of boost max so maybe over 250HP~300HP? :dunno:

The only immediate plans are to get the out of province inspection done, insurance and register it. Ultimately I would like to have a copy of the Top Secret car listed earlier with a V8 - perhaps one out of an ISF. Now that would be cool.

Here are some pics of the new toy. First impressions are that it's fairly clean with minimal rust. I'm not a fan of the bumpers so they will be the first to go. It's also obvious that it's had a respray some point in it's life. The other thing you notice is that it's a 70's car. The doors close with a rattle and not a thud like new cars, the interior has shag carpet and smells like pimp oil and the car is long and narrow - the exact opposite of today.

The floor pans looks decent. There is some surface rust on the other exposed metal parts (rear diff, springs, etc.) Nothing horrible though.

The underside of the engine is oily but again nothing stands out as a problem.

Front view. I think the hood needs to be aligned as the gaps are not the same from side to side and it's lower at the front than it should be. It closes fine though.

I'm not a fan of the burgundy to be honest. Looks too bland. I don't like the brown interior either.

I agree with you. I think it would look amazing in a more modern looking color along with a redone interior. I'm sure it will all come in time!
