95 Pathfinder ticking noise.

My moms 95 Nissan Pathfinder has a cyclical varying knocking/ticking sound. It does not sound like its from the crank case or lifter. Any ideas?

Those are common for lifters, and exhaust manifolds, both are expensive fixes, the manifolds suck to change lol. You can usually see the crack on the exhaust manifold.

The tick is very noticeable on a cold start, and should go away once the exhaust manifold expands. If it goes away after it warms up, it's usually the manifolds. In other words, leave it.
