If anybody has tried blairs death chips xx black bag from some 7-11 or macs stores, they are the hottest and best chips i have had. I love them they burn for ever and they taste good.
they are the only chip that is called hot that is actually hot, I am sick of all the crap people stating that their product is "hot" when it is weak sauce.

spikerS
08-24-2009, 11:18 AM
a bit off topic.
I hope these chips live up to the hype.
I am a spice fiend. The hotter the better. I have won countless pitchers of beer for eating the "un eatable" hot wing in pubs and bars. Went to Wendy's because they had a "spicy" chicken burger that tasted like a chicken breast with pepper. Dairy queen's "flame thrower"? you could put a fire out with one.
Are these chips really that spicy while still being good? or should I just pass and not be disapointed.

I find that now only convenient stores carry the good chips. The ones OP stated are really good, and you can also only find Old Dutch Sour Cream and Cheddar chips at Macs too.

I've looked at a few 7-11's and Mac's and couldn't find em. Any exact locations closer to NW?

I take back what I said. After you start scarfing down the bag the heat builds up and you can feel it. Yeah its spicy but I don't really like those "kettle cooked" style of chip and the heavy flavour. Also for a bag labelled XX HOT and DEATH RAIN, I still think it should be hotter.

I found these at the 7-11 right on 162nd they had a "Buffalo Wing" flavor that was labeled medium heat, so i opted out for those instead since i cant eat too spicy.
Flavor was good and damn even medium heat was too spicy for me, i couldnt finish the bag. lol

They should be on second shelf beside the regular chips, furthest away from the cash registers.
$3.99 a bag.

Yea, I only checked the chip aisle, my bad. Went there today and there they were. I bought the big bag of the Death chips, small bag of Buffalo and Cheddar.
The death chips were what the Old Dutch Jalepeno chips should be. They are in the realm of Frank's Red Hot spicy for me though. Still tasty, and they got better near the end of the bag. I recommend opening the bag from the bottom.
The buffalo tasted great and I liked the flavour the best out of the 3. Not spicy at all though.
Cheddar was good too, but by the time I opened this bag, I was pretty sick of chips lol.

Unless you were reading somewhere else on the website, I saw from the product catalogue
Packaging:
Item #145708 - 28 (2oz) bags per case (66 cases / pallet)
Item #145719 - 14 (5oz) bags per case (48 cases / pallet)
so 14 bags per case x 48 cases = 672 bags
i tried calling them too but nobody answered the phone

Old Dutch definitely has great flavor. I think I feel the same heat from a few Blair's chips after eating an entire big bag of Old Dutch cheddar/jalapeno.
List of favorite chips:
1) Old Dutch CHEDDAR & SOUR CREAM
2) Old Dutch CHEDDAR & JALAPENO
3) Pringles JALAPENO (fake chips but still!)
4) Blair's Death Chips
In the end, flavor > heat for me.

I think the mild tastes the best even though not as spicy. I can't find them anywhere though. I tried the black bag yesterday, and it's definitely spicy but no taste, at first you get a sense of mesquite bbq but hardly any flavor, wait a minute then you get a rush of spiciness lol.
Im pretty convinced they've toned the spicyness down over the last few months. I started buyin these almost a year ago and could barely finish the bag. The last 10 or so bags ive bought have been nowhere near as spicy, still tasty tho.
