^^ Along the same lines, although not specifically in regards to rol.a, I don't like buying stocks that are so thinly traded such that my one block purchase ends up accounting for 50% of the average daily volumes, LOL.

hah 1.00 + 0.89 = 1.89 whatever it jumps to when it jumps it might be hard to sell if you have a lot of shares. its seen over 100k volume which isnt bad but i guess as the price increases the volume will a little too and it wont be as bad as i think. Anyways its a good stock has the potential for growth...i just have my money tied up in other places and would rather keep it there.

And yes, I had bought a lot of shares. I think I have bought ... 11,500 shares. However, I really missed the boat on ROL.A as far as a short term stock.

You may remember, it was at 0.62 for a brief second, well, I was being cheap and put in a buy for 0.61 limit. And, I didn't get the stocks, and it was up to 0.70 very shortly after that. I could have had it at 0.63 and missed that too being stubborn and putting a 0.62 limit. Bottom line, I get in at .74 and am not happy about it. LOL!

I sold it today for a small profit. Overall, I think I might have made half a grand on it. Nothing major, but at least I didn't lose my ass!

If what you say is true, and I'm not doubting that it isn't, then Rol.a is a secure watch-the-paint-dry kind of stock. The low volume/volatility doesn't appeal to short-term traders, but I'll definitely keep it on my watch list. :thumbsup:

That's quite possible. I don't dispute that at all. However, when you have a situation of more buyers than sellers, the price will creep up to reflect the disparity. Everything has it's price - even for investors that are "holding on". On the flip side (no pun intended), you could also say that a low daily average volume is a result of nobody wanting to buy the stock in the first place. Works both ways. Everyone has their own opinion; without it, the stock market would be a very boring place to be.

With very thinly traded securities, I don't find the illiquidity very attractive. Makes it more difficult to enter or exit my positions at times. If I decide to shuffle or mix things around from day to day, I want to know that I can buy/sell quickly and with relative ease especially during times of increased activity or when I'm fully invested.

Actually, they were not. I am referring to the 9-28-73-7w6 and the 8-13-74-4w6, both spudded and abandoned in 0601.

The 10-3 that they did mention was cased in early feb.

I bought at $0.72, should have bought more at 0.63.

yes, it did go up, but based on the volume, it looks like some sucker put in a market order.

If there were 10,000 shares, then I would say that the price is a supported. At this point, looks like a mistake to me and the price of the stock is $.65, which is the price someone is currently willing to pay.

although the buy order is now at $0.70

dont read too much into it. $450 worth of shares will not support that price, sure technically it is at 0.75, but there is no way you can sell watever shares you have for 0.75 right now.. so in a way its not really 0.75.

maybe all it takes is another $450 to drive it back down to 0.63

If I had a block of 30k+, it's still not that easy to sell when daily average volumes are in the 50-60k range. My transaction would still account for more than 10% of the today's volume so far.

I prefer to trade stocks that have much higher daily average volums. You can't count on a volume spike to happen when you want it to. I worked as a securities and market analyst for quite a few years. One of the first things they teach you is liquidity is key. The only time we ever looked at thinly traded stocks was for hostile takeovers.

oh for sure.... I wouldn't buy stuff that's thinly traded either as it posesses a problem when a client, or myself, needs to get out of that position. Selling 30,000 shares of SGP is going tank that market.... but then again.. an order to sell 30,000 is going to split up.

liquidity is something they teach in school... and yes.. it is very important but then again, so is everything else.

Yes you are way too impatient. Here is an example of my patience.

I bought 10000 shares of BME at .65 cents just after they started trading. I still haven't sold, 3 1/2 years later. Currently trading at $3.45 :bigpimp:

Yes i dont own sgp...and its just personal preference because of volume. The stock is good the company is good no doubt but as i stated above its just not something id like to get into.

So, I disagree, you can make money easily in that time frame. It happens every single day to some stock, so the potential is always present.

You can't *bank* on the strategy you are trying to go on... There is no possible way for you to consistently predict the future correctly every time.

depending on which broker you use you can only buy a certain amount of stocks with the equity you have.

so say you have 1000 in equity and they allow you 30% of that to be usable for stocks then if you go over itll get sent to a stock broker at the bank to make sure you can pay for what you buy even tho your probably gonna turn around and sell it the next day.

and yes buy more PLE...only going to see an upside to it...hopefully there is news tomorrow...in a way i dont want the news cuz it keeps making the stock go crazy but news will just make this stock go insanely crazy. Anyways good luck to all with ple hope everyone gets a piece of the wealth

I can't say for sure, but long term it will be $30 this time next year. With a payout of .25/unit you are guaranteed 14.2% return on your investment not including any increases on the actual unit price.

Most if not all (I'm new too) trusts pay out per unit per month. So that 25c is $3 over the year, at $21 right now thats 14% over the next year.

TET.UN has a monthly distribution of $0.25. If this stays consistent throughout the year that works out to $3.00 per year.

So ($3.00 / $21.00) * 100 = 14.2%

Sorry just noticed 4DoorGTZ's post. Also don't forget that trusts pay dividends so it isn't taxed at the same level as a capital gain. :thumbsup:
