NRN has been holding steady despite the markets. PLE's been creeping down, but no massive selloff. Can't wait for results from those guys, and it looks like they're definitely priced right to buy more. Might hold off for a few more days though as I don't think we've reached the basement yet. Having said that, they're bound to climb steadily from now on :) . Falcon Oil (FO) is cheap like borscht right now too.

Im a little scared to buy more UTS...oil to me just seems a little bit to risky right now and it doesnt really seem that UTS is doing too much right now...ill think ill grab more of that later on in the year.

hbm.wt....dont buy anymore if you have them. and if your thinking of buying hbm.wt buy the regular stocks instead. i just got a letter from waterhouse stating that the warrants have to be exercised before july 4 9am EST or they will be automatically exercised
so 30 warrants plus $3.15 for each common share

Falcon Oil and Gas has come down a bunch of late, just like everything else. Sitting at $4 right now. Just got this though. It covers only one aspect of this play. They're saying there's a 90% chance there's 18 trillion cubic feet of gas recoverable, and a 50/50 chance of there being 45 trillion. There's a possibility of over 90 trillion, albeit slight. And again, there's more to Falcon than just the BCGA. They suspect there's a lot of oil underneath the gas as well.

Something to think about at $4 a share, so do your own DD.

[CNW] UPDATE: Falcon Oil & Gas Receives Independent Resource Assessment from The Scotia Group for its Mako Trough Deep Gas Project in Hungary

BUDAPEST, Hungary, June 17 /CNW/ -- Falcon Oil and Gas
Ltd., (TSXV: FO) announced today that it has received a new independent assessment of the potential resource of the Mako Trough Pannonian Basin Gas Accumulation, Falcon's deep gas exploration project in southeastern Hungary.
The Scotia Group, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, was commissioned by Falcon to independently assess and evaluate the potential resource of the Mako Trough Pannonian Basin Gas Accumulation using all available historic data and the latest new information. The Scotia Group assessment provides its estimation of
the possible range of hydrocarbon volume that theoretically may be produced.
"BCGAs are being successfully developed in the United States and knowledge of these reservoir systems is a key part of assessing the Mako Trough resource," The Scotia Group reported in its letter
to Falcon, a copy of which will be available on http://www.sedar.com and on Falcon's Web site. [b]"This analysis focused on the deep BCGA, and does not address any oil or gas resources that may occur in associated conventional or
unconventional reservoirs outside of the BCGA," the letter stated. The Scotia Group assessment of the potential resource of the Mako Trough Pannonian Basin Gas Accumulation describes technically recoverable resources and does not represent an estimate of reserves.
Based on all available data, The Scotia Group has assigned the following probabilistic estimation of technically recoverable resources to the Falcon interests in the Mako Trough Pannonian Basin Gas Accumulation, measured in trillions of cubic feet (Tcf):

Probability
Probability Greater Than P90 (90%) P50 (50%) P10 (10%)
Technically Recoverable Resource 18.0 Tcf 45.2 Tcf 96.3 Tcf

"The Scotia Group is a highly respected international oil and gas advisory service organization that has significant expertise and experience in evaluating unconventional gas resources throughout the world, including recent studies assessing unconventional gas resources for a major, multi-national
exploration and production company," said Marc A. Bruner, Chairman and CEO of Falcon Oil & Gas, Ltd. "We are pleased to have their expert assessment of the potential resource in the Mako Trough BCGA."

Wish I had bought them at $0.65 :D . Got in at $3 and picked up a bunch more last week at $2.75, so I'm hanging onto them for a bit as things look pretty good going forward.

Now, if only NRN and PLE would move up I'd be REALLY happy :D . Gotta keep in mind that they probably won't move much until drilling/results are released though. Patience, Grasshopper.....

Also, here is some info on ASX. Do your own DD.

BUY- ASX is one of the companies that caught our attention during the recent investment show in Vancouver. It's an IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) play in Canada's Northwest Territories that has strong uranium potential. A lot of companies working IOCG targets claim their deposit is "like Olympic Dam," one of the richest mineral deposits in the world. Olympic Dam is not very high grade, but it's huge: seven kilometers by four, by one deep, with 2 billion tonnes of ore reserves and resources, grading 1.6% copper, 0.6 g/t gold, 3.5 g/t silver and 0.06% U3O8. But most of these wannabes have nothing but dreams-especially since most IOCG deposits don't have economic concentrations of uranium.

ASX, on the other hand, appears to have a real shot at something with both size and grade potential. In a claim block covering 51,500 acres, early sampling has returned grades as high as 32.34% copper, 379 g/t gold, 437 g/t silver, 60% U3O8-and 0.71% cobalt for good measure, as well as some bismuth, lead and zinc. Those are the highest grades reported, of course, but there are plenty of more normal grades to go with them-all good indications that the company has prospects well worth looking into.

With the uranium potential, you may ask yourself why this company isn't being recommended in the Casey Energy Speculator. Well, it might end up there as well, but the play is primarily an IOCG play, which means base and precious metals are primary targets. The current heightened interest in uranium will make it easier for the company to trade at a premium, compared with other junior explorers, but this story has a lot more going for it than uranium.

Let's look at it, one P at a time...

People

ASX is ably led by Tim Coupland, an explorationist who has led the company since September of 2000. Tim comes to the business from the financial side, though he trained as a geographer. His past work involved company structuring and reorganization, due diligence reviews and arranging financing for public companies, through a private BC company he ran, called T8X Capital.

In terms of People associated with the company, however, Tim would himself redirect attention to the company's chief IOCG expert, Dr. Hamid Mumin. Dr. Mumin completed his doctorate and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Western Ontario. He has worked as a mine, exploration and research geologist for Noranda at Sturgeon Lake, Ontario, and as chief geologist at the successful Bogosu Gold Mine, in Ghana. Dr. Mumin joined Brandon University in 1995 where he still teaches Mineral Deposits, Exploration and Mining Geology, Mineralogy, Geochemistry, Tectonics and Field Geology.

More important from our perspective is that he has put his academic knowledge to good use in the field, participating in the discovery of IOCG and polymetallic deposits in the Northwest Territories. One of those, the NICO deposit, is currently undergoing a full economic feasibility study. Also to his credit, as part of the discovery effort, is the first carbonatite complex discovered in Manitoba at Eden Lake (a potential phosphate-REE resource), the South Bay Ni-Cu-Co-PGE prospect and the South Bay rare metal pegmatite field.

Backing Dr. Mumin up at ASX is Senior Geologist Erik Ostensoe, a former Hecla Mining chief geologist with almost 40 years of experience in project evaluation and selection, as well as in project planning and management. Also on the team is consulting geologist Peter Burland Read, another geologist with 40 years of experience in academia, government and industry, including a stint with Placer Dome at the Campbell mine in Red Lake. And then there's Jack Klein, a former Cominco chief geophysicist with 37 years of experience in mineral exploration.

There's more, but you get the picture: unlike most juniors, this company is extremely well endowed with top notch technical talent.

Property

ASX has four project areas: Longtom, an IOCG target joint ventured with Fronteer Development Group, T.FRG; Dixie Lake, a gold target also under a joint venture with FRG; MacInnis Lake, a uranium target; and Contact Lake, an historic silver and uranium mining district, with old workings dating back to 1934. The story is pretty much only about Contact Lake at this point, so that's the only one we'll discuss here.

At this writing, the Contact Lake project consists of eleven contiguous claims in the Port Radium area on the east side of Great Bear Lake, Northwest Territories-some 400+ miles north of Yellowknife. As mentioned above, the land package is huge, 50,000+ acres and growing. We understand that staking was taking place, even as we met with Tim in Vancouver. The size of the property matters in this case, because part of the story is that ownership was previously fragmented, preventing area-wide exploration. ASX has a 100% interest in most of the project area and assets, which have not seen previous work using modern geophysics. At the time of the old workings, the IOCG geological model and the technology for treating polymetallic ores economically had not even been developed. So, the possibility of substantial mineralization being overlooked is very real.

The package contains six past-producers, including the Echo Bay Mine (100% ASX, produced 23,779,178 ounces of silver), the Port Radium, Eldorado Mine (50% ASX, 15 million pounds of uranium, and 8 million ounces of silver), and the Contact Lake Mine (100% ASX, 627,000 ounces of silver at a grade of 3.83 ounces per tonne and 6,933 pounds of uranium at a grade of 3.36% U3O8). Those are historical, non-43-101-compliant numbers.

Speaking of history, the area was discovered by J. MacIntosh Bell of the Geological Survey of Canada, in 1899. The Eldorado mine was put into production in 1934 and has 25 miles of underground workings on 14 levels. ASX has found intriguing archived material from past operators. A June 14, 1960, memo from one J.G. McNiven, Eldorado mine manager, mentions older archives in which he found references to a copper ore body that had been drilled "through", assaying 8.22% Cu. An assay certificate issued by Thomas Heys & Sons to Dominion Explorers on September 21, 1960 shows various samples grading 11.8 to 20.6 % Cu and others grading 0.1 to 0.4% Co. Dominion later licensed Echo Bay from Falconbridge.

Management says all of these mines were shut down during times of low metal prices, not due to depletion. Working so far north, there was a major "boom and bust" effect, so the old miners would "walk right past" known high-grade showings of polymetallic ore, and focus on high-grade silver veins, branching out into uranium, when it was easy to get. Eldorado was all about uranium from 1944 on-this is where historic documents report that "large specimens" of pitchblende assaying over 60% U3O8 "are not difficult to find."

The Contact Lake Mineral Belt is approximately 15 kilometers long. It contains extensive alteration zones, including large mineralized gossans that can be traced for over one kilometer in length and over 200 meters in width. This is a northern extension of the same mineral belt that hosts Fortune Minerals' NICO Gold-Cobalt-Bismuth deposit (42 million tonnes, grading 0.6 g/t Au, 0.12% Bi and 0.1% Co).

The entire package contains more than fifteen IOCG exploration targets-including several new discovery zones identified through a recently completed VTEM/TFI airborne survey, as well as the extensive surface sampling program that yielded the fantastic grab samples mentioned above. At the K-2 discovery zone, one surface sample graded 5.85% Cu, 2.7 g/t Au, 12 g/t Ag and 0.71% Co. At the J-1 zone, another sample graded 5.45% Cu, 6.2 g/t Au, 104.6 g/t Ag, 0.11% Co, 0.13% U3O8, 0.3% Bi, and 0.05% Zn. At the Bornite Lake South Occurrence, past drilling encountered 1 meter of 379 g/t gold and 17.94% copper (12.2 opt Au and 17.94% Cu over 3 feet). At the Thompson showing, historical samples graded 6.2 g/t gold, 121.9 g/t silver, and 14.15% U3O8. There are more of these target zones than we have space to get into, but we've seen the data; many of them are very large, their alteration traces unmistakable.

Will any of these targets prove up any tonnage once the drilling starts? Well, at the mothballed Eldorado mine, the lowest levels where historical data reports ore-grade material are over 2,500 feet down. If the surface mineralization were merely a remnant, the bottom of an old system that has been eroded away, there wouldn't be past production from underground.

With this many different showings of high-grade mineralization, it seems a fair bet that some pretty flashy results will be headed our way, from one or several targets, once the drilling starts.

When will we know what ASX really has? Soon. The company is constructing a 30-man camp for this year's work program, which is slated to start on a 20,000-meter drill program this spring. ASX is licensed for up to 75,000 meters of drilling. The company is also in the midst of preparing a 43-101-compliant resource, based on work done to date, that should give us a clearer idea for what the company has, as a bare minimum starting point.

Politics

The Northwest Territories are not known to be the easiest place in Canada for miners to do business. However, up there it's usually all about the company's relationships with the First Nations. Tim says that he was actually approached by tribal leaders in the area about conducting mineral exploration in the area and that he declined because he didn't think he'd ever get a permit. It was only upon the insistence of his First Nations friends that he would have no trouble getting the necessary permits that Tim decided to take a look-and then locked up a major historic mining district, almost in its entirety.

Confirming Tim's story, on January 27, 2006, ASX announced the signing of a five-year Cooperation and Benefits Agreement with the Deline Land Corporation, representing the Sahtu & Métis people of Deline, Deline District, Great Bear Lake, NWT. That's a first-of-its-kind agreement, and a major boost to ASX' prospects in the area.

The fact that others have failed to achieve such cooperation in the past would also explain why areas known to have such high-grade mineralization have seen so little modern exploration. The fact that ASX has been able to get its drill permits is also a very good sign. Mind you, exploration is a completely different game from actual mining, but this is an exploration play, not a development play, so that's a battle for another day.

Promotion

We have only our Vancouver meeting with management to go on, but our impression is that ASX is pretty savvy in the promotion department. The fact that the company has been able to finance a serious amount of work and build up a respectable C$60 million market cap, all without any 43-101-compliant resources to its name, also says a lot. Finally, ASX works pretty closely with joint venture partner Fronteer. Tim and FRG's President Mark O'Dea go back a ways, and Fronteer is very competent in the promotion department... so we suspect promotion won't be lacking.

Paper and Phinancing

Given a recent expiry date, we believe almost all of the company's cheaper warrants (in the 36- to 45-cent range) have been exercised. This means the current SO number is higher, and the FD number is lower than what is shown in the table above. Unfortunately, until the dust settles and the company reports the results of recent financial transactions, we have to interpolate from what is currently public information. By our estimates, there should only be some two million 45-cent warrants, and about 13 million 65- and 75-cent warrants are due to expire in about a year and a half. That's far enough out not to concern us at this time. Meanwhile, the financing done last fall that produced most of these warrants has cashed the company up, leaving ASX with about C$12 million in the treasury, enough to complete its ambitious exploration program for 2006. Interestingly enough, the 40-cent shares issued at that time just came free trading, and the stock saw a major increase in volume, but not a drop in share price. That's a very good sign.

Price

This is a fairly speculative play, as late into the current exploration cycle as we are. That makes it riskier, but with a lot more upside potential. Why is it not just another drill play? Primarily because of the very large number of highly prospective targets, as well as the underground information we have from the various past-producing mines. In other words, it's not a total crap-shot as to whether there's anything at depth; several areas have already shown that there is economic ore at depth around the district.

Therefore, we see a decent chance at not only a double, but a larger multiple, as the drill assays come in and the new 43-101 report is released. On the other hand, there's no particular reason to expect this stock to go through the roof in the immediate future-do NOT chase this one.

Drills won't start turning until spring, and the recently released cheap paper may bring the share price lower in coming weeks. This is unquestionably a stock to try to buy at or below market. If that doesn't work, place a bid with a limit, say, not more than 5 cents over market, and see what you can buy. If you can't get any shares either way over the next week, try again a week later. You should have time, so take it easy and get yourself the best deal possible.

wow, so many rumours about PLE. Some think buyout, others think big find... bigger than ARU.

haha, so much positive thinking ;)

Z_Fan
06-26-2006, 01:23 PM
Even if it was actually a bigger find than ARU, the share price should be less than 1/3 of ARU. PLE has way more shares out. Like triple.

So, that kind of find would only be $6 share price.

I doubt it is anything like that. Wouldn't they have to actually drill some holes to know anything! I think so! And since they haven't even awarded contracts to drill (officially not announced) I doubt they've even started.

I dunno. Wait and see I guess. I sold 10000 PLE last week. Kicking myself for that. Ooops.

Well not that that's bad news, but I, like everyone else was expecting much better. It's nice that they will have new property bordering ARU.
PLE takes so damn long to do anything. I believe in it, but I'm starting to wonder just how long it's going to take to see some major movement.

I think this a good play due to the diversification of this company. They are focused on Uranium, Gold and Zinc (of which is in very short supply). They have land in Guatemala, B.C, Alberta and the Yukon. There initial exploration of their Alberta sun project had yielded positive results, drilling should commence place later this year. FV is a company that I am proud to be holding in my portfolio, I could be 100% wrong on this one, but that is the joy of the stock market.

Well, I don't know. But I had been watching that stock for a while, and have shares in it. I bought some of it this morning when it was super low.

My trade has just now been reversed. I didn't get my shares! They're gone and I guess my money isn't.

Oh well, guess I'm happy about not losing more money on what I bought today had it continued to go down. The problem I have is that the stock I still hold is completely valueless - and worse so due to what they've done here. The price looks fine because they have reset it, but once they open this for trading again, it's going to go right down the shitter.

at this time id say ptu...i always recommended it but the correction basically killed it...now its just waiting for news and itll be a rocket. Its sitting at around 40 cents with a 1 cent up or down daily. I want to buy more but there just too many things that have gone way done im out of money for everything id like to buy.

Den is a great buy im seeing steady gains on that and it should be back up in the 18 dollar range in a month or two.

hbm ofcourse is going to be a great long term stock and tomorrow most likely will be a good day to pick up the stock as all the warrants will be exercised tomorrow due to their early exercise program.

Other than that the only other new thing i have is a company with the symbol REV...seems like it can explode just when is the question...i only have a little riding on this one since i have done all the research.
