Check out Skyfire for BB, should help solve that but security could be an issue. I go through my VPN on WM6.5 and RBC works great through Opera.

Windows Mobile on my TouchPro. VPN is a virtual private network; I connect to my home network so the information I send is encrypted over the air.

What do you think of $68.80 as the resistance? Looks like we've already touched it a couple times this week....if it holds it could be a good place to dump HOD and buy it again on a bounce....but if it breaks through then we could be seeing $64 oil again. Thoughts?

ok so pardon my late chart as I was away in the early morning. I'll still throw up a few charts quickly.
looking at oil, remember I said oil's red up trend line should stop oil dead at its tracks well, I couldnt even believe my own call as it turned around and never looked back since,
now that oil is moving away our important 73.35 critical level which further confirms our bearish argument. I expect oil continue to drop. next big support is around 67.5-68 as there is double fibo and a previous resistance now becoming support.
i would at the least hold oil until that level before entertaining selling half.
and will attampt to target around 64 as this is the ultimate trend line on daily chart, if broken to the down side it will confirm we are indeed headed much lower. So short term target 67.6, medium term target 64. longer term target would be 50-55 but right now lets just take it one step at a time.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil081409.jpg
and the most important chart is the US dollar chart. While I Was expected a correction this week and I got it, expected the market to rally and it did even thought it really moved abit further than I expected. notice how the 78.12 in red support did not break, dollar is bottoming out beautifully and we should no doubt see a steady climb upwards so hold on tight.

thats weird with netdania i get 68.53 as the 20 day and 67.60 as the 50 day, maybe sell half at the 20 and the rest at the 50 ....
i don't have enough shares to sell half

I would imagine once the 200 EMA gives a way next most likely support is around 946-947. So yes try holding out for a bit lower gold. but remember if gold cracks below 945 I think that is another bearish confirmation hold is headed lower possibly straight thru to 900

I'm just moving my stops up as HOD rises. Following it at 20 cents below market. I was in for 1000 shares at $10.88. But last time I pulled the trigger WAY too early, after it had gone up a buck, and then it went up a couple more! So we'll hang on a bit tighter this time and see what happens.
Meanwhile, FUCK HNU!

Cause HGD does not track the spot price of gold but the gold sector on the tsx, guess the gold stocks aren't down too much.

Yeah, HGD and HGU have ... let's say it loud ...
*NOTHING TO DO WITH SPOT PRICE OF GOLD*
LOL
Anyhow...the spot price in general helps determine what way the Gold Companies that comprise HGU/HGD are going to move. But just because gold is up, does not mean the corresponding stock (HGU) will be up. If the market overall is having a crappy day, then it is very possible that gold can be up $15 and the stocks are going way down...so you wind up having HGU way down and HGD way up even though gold is way up. Opposite of what you'd get if these ETF's actually tracked the spot gold price. Which they do not.
K
HMY
AU
ABX
NEM
Etc. Look up the ETF of the Horizons website to see the stocks it tracks and how each one plays in to the ETF price...

By my current stats, even though as per my other post, they are not directly related...
BUT
If HGD did track gold, it would be moving LESS than what it currently is.
Gold is down -0.84%
2x ETF would be -1.68% for Bull and 1.68% for Bear
But HGD (Bear) is actually up 3.81%. So it has moved a LOT more than it would have if it were actually track spot.

I just took a $1 profit on HOD. I'll be surprised if oil continues to fall without coming back up a bit for a chance to re-enter. How often does oil fall $3 in a day without bouncing back the next!?
RX_EVOLV
08-14-2009, 10:22 AM
Thats true. I just think Mon or Tues HOD is going to be green.. but it might pull back a little before it goes back up..

Sorry I should have been more specific. I know that HGD does not follow spot price of gold and I know what the major holdings in HGD are. What i meant was considering how much gold is down, I would have thought gold stocks would have been down a bit more and subsequently HGD would have been a bit higher, thats all. Sorry for the confusion.
Seems like everyone is jumping out of HOD. I am still in (stops set). Dont tell me I am going to be the only one who may be holding through the weekend?!?!?!

ok someone is right, its typical oil usually takes a break after 3+ dollar drop.
I have 3 position, sold of them and if the 67.5 area is a very good short term support, then what we want is to expect a bit of an ABC correction bounce maybe about 2 to 2.5 dollar? then I will short again

Got stopped out of HGD and HOD.
Question for those that trade regularly. I have never seen this but perhaps one of you have.
I had a stop set at $12.00 on HOD. But under my trades it is listed as selling HOD on my stop at $11.88. What is the point of the stop if it doesn't fill at what i set it at? I have never seen this happen before. Generally i set a stop at $12.00 for example, and the order fills at $12.00.
I am with BMO if that matters!?!?!?

Stop order means once 12.00 hits, your order becomes a market order. So it'll sell at whatever price its at when your order is processed.
you can use stop-limit, so you'd set it your stop at 12 and limit at lets say 11.95, so your order will only get filled between 11.95 and 12.
unless i misunderstood your question...

I have learn that while following the right trend is the key, going counter trend can be suicide because corrections can be in the form of a larger correction or nearly none. The last thing I want is getting stuck with long oil only to see it fall further.
from now on I am just going to pick entries that are based upon the main trend while expecting corrections to for re-entry

HNU looks pretty ripe for an entry point.
$3.27 NG, $3.60 HNU.
When does HNU flip from the Sept contract to the Oct contract?

yeah i been buying for the last few days, wish i bought in today instead, i don't know why i bought since it's on a strong down trend, i was hoping for a quick flip :(
on the 7th,8th and 9th on every moth HNU rolls over to the next month contract, so we just started trading the september contract... next month this time will be trading october contract...
correct me if i'm wrong.

based on price projection the Natgas chart looks like its ready to head lower. so if you take 4.57 to 3.22 for example, and we completed an ABC correction which explained why NG rallied to 4.16, then take 4.16 measure that up the the last drop of 1.35 that puts NG at 2.81 while 3 dollar could be a good mental swing pt.
currently there are support at 3.22, 3.15 3.00 and target of 2.81
we are at the high end of the range. buying at 3.27 means you believe 3.22 is the bottom. So unless you can stomach a 40 cemt swing and or have a tight stop I would advise sticking with oil or wait a bit longer

welp dont just compare it for a few days think longer term. HOD is awesome if oil is on the path of destruction.
if you compare HOU and HOD chart you will see when oil doubled from 33 to 73, it only ran from 4 to 11.7x ( about 3 times) but when oil dipped from 70 to 33, hod went from 10 to 47 which is about 5x.
Roll over can actually help as we get the benefit for shorting 2 dollars higher every month as it rolls over. but is certainly weak for oil long unless oil can pop dramatically in a short term move

ya... i took the loss when i bought HNU at 6.00... not gonna touch it till were close to $2 NG, then it'd be a safe play, till then I'll just watch and play with oil.

Hey SR, just wanted to ask about HOD
HOD has reached $12 while oil has dropped to $67 this weekend, should I jump in or wait till HOD drops a bit?
What about HNU, it's at a 52 week low with 3.50. Is that a good price to buy into?
thanks

you can go back a page or two and view my charts.
while I expect the down leg has started and we should see 64 oil next week unless something suddenly gives way in the last 30 min I believe the market has done its sell off and we should technically see a bit of a rally comes monday morning. Allowing for stoch to come out of oversold, the idea would be to wait for oil to climb a bit back towards 69-70 then short again.
if you had got in eariler like the rest of us when oil was still trading in the 71-72, then you would of been in a better position as you can either hold or sell half in attampt to buy back.
I figure the US dollar should make a pretty strong move next week.
and for NG I have also commented on it eariler, the trend is clearly down ever since NG hit 4.57 the 2nd time. and since then it has been moving lower as expected, popping higher as expected and now back to its original trend. Next target down quite possibly would be 2.8-3 dollars. Any rally would be short lived at this moment in time.

So I am going to listen to SilverRex on NG and I am bailing on HNU. I'm selling shares that I bought at $4.18 and $3.82 respectively. So sale price is $3.57. We'll see if the trend is my friend and stays that way.
I'm also seriously thinking about bailing on HOD.
But remember, last time it was $10.90 then it went up and kept going up until it hit $14.x then it dropped back to $10.8x again shortly after. I don't want to miss that ride if it happens. But I also want to use HOD to offset my HNU loss.
So I'm not sure what is the worse of the two evils here. I think I'll cover my ass and sell my HOD. Cuz if it tanks Monday, then I'm doubly fucked.
